NCAA Basketball 10 Fact Sheet Clarification - Feature Announcement Yet to Come
In an e-mail sent out Thursday afternoon, the Community Manager for NCAA Basketball 10 stated that some sites that had posted the game fact sheet had incorrect information. (This despite the fact sheet was posted by EA on their media site.) The Community Manager added that 'barring any mishaps', a blog will be released Friday afternoon with word on a previously unannounced feature. The Fact Sheet had no mention of Dynamic Updates and smart money is on that being the feature we learn about.
In the game demo (available now on 360; 10/19 for PS3), we get a brief look at Dynamic Updates. It appears that in the 'Update Hub,' users can download the Top 25, RPI, Team Stats, & New Plays. How does this tie into the game? Some are speculating that it may be a feature very similar to NBA Live 10's Dynamic Season. If so, this would aid greatly in correcting issues in the game with sim stats and RPI and also keep content fresh with new plays. However, at this time this is mainly speculation. In addition, there has been no in-depth details on these items mentioned in the Fact Sheet: - Deeper In-Game Strategy: Improved Coach Feedback System and Team Tempo Control enables you to execute your gameplan to perfection. - Gameplay and Visual Enhancements: Make a run for the Final Four with more than 100 improvements, including player movement, rebounding, off-ball collisions, alley-oops, size-ups, and more. With the release of the game less than 12 days away and media sites sure to get copies next week, it's time for the marketing and promotion of this game to step up and explain game features - especially with PS3 users waiting until after release for the demo. |

Couple of things I noticed on the opening intro screen (for the demo specifically) is that you can bat the ball as you're diving for it on the court. Also, you can tip a rebound to yourself...both gameplay improvements.

Friday has come and gone and once again they drop the ball and fail to keep to their word. I can't remember an EA game advertised worse than this. This is just a joke.

I hate to sound negative too, I mean I've been e-mailing Sean about other stuff and he's pretty damn cool and very helpful, but I mean that marketing team up in Canada is really just failing to get anyone excited for release. I'm not gonna jump on the dev team at all like I would for football, but the marketing team is just horrid.

I think by Friday, they meant the Friday after release.

So I have resigned myself to the fact that there are ZERO dynasty enhancements this year. It's too bad because 2k does such a great job with dynasty mode while EA likes to focus on other areas. I really was interested in this game but the poor marketing, the PS3 fiasco, and the lack of dynasty additions have really swayed my interest in this game.
Maybe after ps3 gets the demo I may gain some interest again...??? |

So Steve there is no ability to sub in/out for different positions when the clock is stopped? That is absolutely unbelievable!

Yep that is how the demo is, you can only sub players who play the same position unless you call a timeout. So if you wnat to use a three guard strategy for periods in a game you better save your timeouts because during a dead timeout ball stoppage in play you don't have full control over your subs. You can't sub a SG for a small forward unless you call timeout. I can deal with no formation subs in a football game but with 12 available players on an active roster I just can't deal with that. Sorry for being so negative guys, but man I was so hopeful for this game. Maybe they will patch some things, but the feedback and scope of this title is so limited I think I will stick with the football.

I think the Dynasty info will come out this week (no other choice) with a good part of it tied to the Dynamic Updates. I wouldn't write off Dynasty Mode just yet - don't hold the marketing of the game and (lack of) PS3 demo announcement against the devs and what they may have done with the game until we know everything.

Just went to the Ducks last exhibition, I'm excited for CBB but honestly this game doesn't even interest me like it did last year, I'd attribute this to the lack of marketing. It really does hurt them when you make empty promises and keep putting out info about the same 2 things (presentation and offenses)
