NCAA Football 10 Patch #3 Information - NCAA Football 10 & NCAA Basketball 10 at ncaaStrategies

NCAA Football 10 is receiving a third title update from EA Sports. The patch was just announced with the following notes:

- Fixed a disconnect issues in Online Dynasty
- Tuned Player Progression in Dynasty (and Online Dynasty) per community feedback

The patch is now available for both the XBox 360 and the Playstation 3.

Can you provide any details regarding what changes were made for the progression? Was it a matter of tuning players potential rating, adjusting ratings bonuses or something else?

Also, are the disconnects the mid-tackle disconnects? I believe these were the ones associated with having practiced or played a game prior to starting an OD game.

Damn, after my recruiting class the hyper recruiting class was about the only thing that was going to keep my Iowa State team competitive.

Given the nature of patches we had to find a different way of getting progression down; which is why it took so long, and the lack of comments around it until we knew it was possible (don't want to say we can do something until we know we can).

Long story short it takes progression down across the board, while trying to keep seasons 6+ from getting too low (as opposed to too high like they were). Mainly has to do with the differences in the prestige of the teams with a small change to the potential bonus... I'll see if I can't dig up the numbers we had in running the sims, but I'm sure you'll have someone posting those soon too!

The desync fix should take care of the game mode disconnects and hopefully a few other really rare ones.

will the progression patch be inserted into our current OD's? do i need to take it offline and back on? we have offseason on Sunday. can anyone shed light on this?

Yes it will work with current dynasties, no need to restart... I added a note in the original post on EA forums.

damn... too late... already sold the game back

i remember one of the head guys here from Utopia saying there was zero chance for a 3rd patch [to fix progression] so i got rid of the game

This is really cool. So Russ, will this also affect recruits coming in? My friend recruited a 90 overall true freshman DT in our last post season! It was crazy.

So does it only deal with in/off season progression, or also deal with new recruits as well.

Wow! I'm shocked as I don't recall ever seeing a third patch. Good on you EA. Still no word on the subs/fatigue issue though? Is that just something that can't be fixed via a patch? Anyways, thanks again.

why are these patches from EA so damn difficult to download? I swear it takes 100 attempts to get these things to download every time.

I've never had an issue downloading a patch.

I would welcome more information on the disconnection fix. What exactly is the scenario that this patch fixes again? I guess I don't understand the 'game mode' disconnect.
