- Humongous afros....wasn't around for these, but sports would've been so much better had afros become popular again in place of cornrows.

- The NBA Draft on TNT

- NFL Primetime on Sunday nights....the shit they have now (The Blitz or whatever) is just that, shit. Tom Jackson is the man.

- NBA on NBC...John Tesh FTW

- MLB games on NBC (with Bob Costas like ZM said). The playoff games in the 90s were awesome.
- Guys in the NBA without tattoos

I still love the Frank, Al, and Dan combo on MNF. That was the crew that I grew up with and I think they were great.

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. "A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy.

"It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego." He continued, "The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

Striped socks: really for football and basketball, but I bet if just one prominent basketball or football player started wearing them he could set off a trend.

Yeah, that's a prevalent school of thought as well unfortunately.

That said, if the NFL is crazy enough to get rid of the salary cap (as rumored), Los Angeles will be getting a team (probably two) as fast as I can type this up.

The NFL is in so many questionable markets long-term right now.

Yeah I too miss when morning and late night SportsCenter was just highlights. Now they'll squeeze in analytical pieces and interviews. It's so annoying.

I miss when ESPN used to show random shit during the day like Aussie Rules Football and other non-mainstream sports. That would be much more interesting and entertaining than watching Skip Bayless or Colin Cowherd or any of the other multitudes of retarded assholes they have at their network now.

Agreed. Nothing was better than a Wednesday afternoon Aussie Rules match.

Can Bayless and Cowherd be in the same room? Is there enough room for both their egos?

agreed. Just find any taped team sport and show it. Especially on espn 2. A few talkshows and some sportscenter are ok i guess, but they have gone way overboard with it.

Yeah I don't get why they have all these channels and they insist on using ESPNU to show like, replays of college sports games that weren't even that exciting or big to begin with.

The other day on ESPNU they were showing men's indoor intl volleyball, which was actually sweet.

Baseball:
1. High stirrup socks.
2. Scheduled double-headers.
3. The brush-back pitch.
4. Double steals.

Hockey:
1. The goaltender actually having a crease. Way too many goals have been scored by shooting low on the goaltender, then everybody standing in the paint and hacking at it or knocking the goalie over until it goes in.
2. Enforcers.
3. Goaltenders like Tom Barasso and Ron Hextall defending their creases. If you were crowding their paint, expect a stick to the back of the shins.

Marty Turco does this to some extent but is not even close to Barasso's and Hextall's league.

Oh, can I add WOODEN STICKS! I hate seeing a play set up perfectly, only for the guy shooting the one-timer's stick to snap like it was made of balsa.
