I, sadly, somewhat expect that stuff from your stereotypical message board but not from BP. It was just really uncalled for stuff that makes me ashamed that they’re Ohio State “fans” who give the rest of us bad names.
It was in response to Willis making comments recently that Miami should have won that game (referring to the National Championship).

So that makes it acceptable?

Well, it's likely the same group of fans that embarrass us all the time, anyway.

For those considering switching to DTV:

I called today, and here's what they told me:

The choice package (w/BTN, NFL Network):
$49.99/mo for 4 mos > $54.99 mo, 185 channels
free install in four rooms
free DVR or HD upgrade on one receiver
$50 VISA gift card
$10 off per mo for 1st ten mos
install w/i 1 week
I think for us worked out to $69.99/mo long run, b/c we'd get in four rooms and there's an addy charge for each receiver monthly. That's a good $20 more than what I pay right now, all because of this stupid Pig Ten Network.

True, but every fan base has those types...some more than others. However, I must say, there seems to be more and more of these "fans" with each coming year.

It doesn't matter, it still doesn't excuse it at all in my opinion. You don't do something like that and expect what I would view as a reasonable person to not think of you in harshly negative terms, you just don't.

Those very same clowns reacted in harsh tones when a fellow Buckeyes fan requested video of the hit on Ray Small in the Indiana game I think it was, then they go right around and the very same people criticizing the requester are acting far more egregiously than the act the initially came down on.

There are exceptions to just about every rule but you either have class or you don't as a general rule, I don't see how anybody saying what they've said in that thread has anything even remotely resembling class.

I hate it because I love that site and I've never seen anything of that nature before on it.

I find it rather hard to believe that you can judge anyone based on one comment in that thread.

I get the gist of your point, but I think you are taking it to an extreme.

Lastly, I wasn't trying to justify anything that was said in there (as I stated above) I was just expanding on why it was happening in there.

Interesting statistical workup from BuckeyePlanet:

Basically, even though we're a bridesmaid more than our fair share, we the best team consistency-wise.

More zany Skunk antics:

Quote:
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Two University of Michigan football players are expected to go on trial next month on separate charges of indecent exposure and driving while intoxicated.

Wide receiver LaTerryal Savoy, 21, of Mamou, La., attended a pretrial hearing Friday on charges that he exposed himself July 23 to a 21-year-old woman he knew inside Michigan Stadium. He pleaded not guilty at an arraignment Wednesday.

He is charged with one count of indecent exposure, a misdemeanor that carries up to one year in jail and a fine. His trial is set for Sept. 21.

Linebacker Obi Ezeh, 19, of Grand Rapids, pleaded not guilty to operating a vehicle while intoxicated, also a misdemeanor.

He was arrested May 22 after his vehicle struck a utility pole. His trial is set for Sept. 19.

FIND MORE STORIES IN: Michigan | ANN ARBOR | Wide receiver | Carson Butler

Nicholas Roumel, a lawyer for both players, said Savoy's case was accidental.

"In order for this to be a crime, this has to be done knowingly," Roumel told The Ann Arbor News for a story Saturday. "I get the impression he just forgot to zip up his fly."

Roumel told the Detroit Free Press he was still talking to prosecutors about Ezeh's case.

Head coach Lloyd Carr said in a statement that he will wait until the end of the judicial process before commenting on Savoy. He also said that Ezeh understands there are consequences for his behavior.
And he also didn't realize that his cock was hanging out of his pants. Seriously, who files charges because a guy left the barn door open?

So whats the deal with this Big Ten Network thing? Last I heard from reading in the local paper is that the first two games(YSU and Akron) would be broadcast on it(therefor since I have TWC, I will not see it) and then from there on out the rest were undecided?

Anyone got any specifics on this or furthur details, I've only read back 2 pages or so in this thread, so if its already been covered, my fault.

Why don't we have a bunch of assholes here like they do at BuckeyePlanet? Just downright punk-asses.

Basically, you're fucked unless you get DirectTV. It's not going to happen...it's what a Mexicans call a standoff. Your other option is goig to a bar to watch what will probably be the first four home games (UW will be national).

But hey...at least you still get Oxygen!

I'm screwed either way being in NYC, but I thought there was talk of TWC airing the BTN games in Ohio even if they don't come to an agreement with the BTN. Other than YSU and Akron which of our games are slated for BTN broadcast at this point?

You’re right, we all have our good and bad moments.

I disagree on that part. I remember when we played Oregon during a game in the 80’s. I don’t remember if it was the 83 game or the 87 game, not that it really matters though. Anyways, a Duck got hurt and me being the little kid and not knowing any better cheered because hey, anything bad that happens to our opponents is a good thing right?

I don’t remember why it sticks out in my mind but I do recall getting a slight lecture from my father about how we don’t make fun of players who are injured. I don’t really remember exactly what was said but I’m sure it was one of those “do the right thing” moments.

Maybe that was why I was so disgusted when I saw fellow Buckeye fans being total dicks in regard to Willis McGahee’s injury. One of the things that did it was that it was the exact same group of people who gave the guy hell for requesting the video of the brutal hit on Ray Small that gave him a concussion. The real kicker was that it was the BP guys, people who are normally mature and well reasoned individuals, pretty much the antithesis of you standard message board folks. I’d thought that place was above that stuff and that is why I liked lurking there so much. On a side note, this place is usually above the standard message board junk and is filled with tons of intelligent people which is why I like to lurk here as well for the most part.

I don’t know, I guess I just found it repulsive on my own personal “right thing” meter.

If you can't get it there are ways of finding things on the internet though I'm not sure if the BTN would be available through the normal methods. I'll poke around in the FAQ and double check with a mod to ensure that the specific mentioning of said methods is alright here. I’m assuming they are but I’d like to double check first.

To the best of my knowledge no other games are supposed to be on the BTN besides the ones which you mentioned.

I've heard there will be one Big Ten game on the BTN. It obviously won't be a big game and I doubt they would make it an away game, so it will probably be Northwestern or MSU.

Swedish,

Don't you think making a parallel between a player hurt and you not knowing if they'll ever play again and making fun of a player that is making millions in the NFL after the injury are a bit much?

Throw in the fact that McGahee opened himself up to some OSU ridicule with the comment he made?
