Moving...

It's been a slow several days for me because I'm in the middle of a 100-mile move that will include a change of internet providers. Commuted Mon. and Tues., got the keys to my new place Wed. and stayed there bare-bones the last two nights- no TV = no Bama-Texas game. I'll be off the grid for a few days until Charter gets me hooked up.

Death of a Franchise

Tomorrow completes my second week with Charter and I already hate them.

The antivirus/security software I had been using expired at about the same time I got hooked up with Charter, so I just went with their free "Security Suite."

On Saturday morning, on just my 8th day as a Charter customer, I was attacked by a virus that defeated this so-called "Security Suite". I was still able to track down the executable file (by terminating it in Task Manager) and delete it. The computer was working fine again other than my internet connection being busted and system restore being disabled. All I got from calling Charter all weekend was a recording saying their was a system wide problem they knew about and were working on. It wasn't until Monday that I got the speak with human tech support and I ended up being told it was a computer issue they couldn't help me with. Tried to do a Windows reapir and it made my system unstable- it would reboot during the startup process. I had to break down and do a clean install of Windows, which deleted the contents of the "My Documents" folder...

...and guess where Madden PC puts its saved files?

Needless to say, I'm back with what I was using for protection before.

Man, that sucks. Are you planning to start over? If not, I understand. You went to all that work and to see it all disappear like that must be incredibly demoralizing.

wow mudcat! that's bricks! literally! i would be royally pissed in all honesty. but look at me, since you've gone down I started a dynasty - one that i should follow through with so you'll have something to read when not working on yours. anyways, cant wait to see this get going again.
