Hey!

I am addicted to stadium sounds! I've got a collection of crowd sounds/reactions/cheers in MP3 format that can be layered with other clips for added ambience/realism/whatever.
Most were taken from sounddogs.com (free, short MP3 clips of sound effects).
I'll add them in a zip or rar format when I get home from work.
I also have alot of marching band clips of recognizable music (i.e. You Can Call Me Al, Bohemian Rhapsody, Blue Suede Shoes, Tequila, If I Only Had a Brain, Anyway You Want It, Low Rider, etc) and drum cadences. I use them when adding clips for ALL teams (I have PS3). It helps when you play against a team you don't care enough about to create specific sounds but still want something playing. The James Madison Marching Band has the best clips in my opinion.
I can include these also after work.
Let me know if you're interested!

I tried posting Zip files and Rar files but couldn't upload them, even when they were small file sizes.
I'm gonna try some different things this weekend. The crowd sounds are generic recordings from sporting events. The band music is really awesome and really adds to the atmosphere - I'm really more interested in getting those up and definitely will try hard to get them up to share especially if you're interested.
Check out James Madison University's marching band site for some of the clips I already have in the mean time.

That JMU site is excellent. I am totally putting the Pirates of the Caribbean theme as my defense leaves the field after a 3rd down stop :D

Oh damn, just saw the James Bond theme too. Ugh. So many choices. This will let me get rid of all the 'canned' music I have for Texas A&M in my online dynasty. I wanted more band music to go with my A&M fight songs and 12th Man Yells. Hell's Bell's and Zombie Nation just didn't seem right at A&M.

Now I have so many choices.

Yeah, I think it's much cooler having marching band clips in the game and I really prefer it over the actual music. I'm gonna keep adding links and sound clips here. They're all really awesome.

Here's a bunch of the sites I visit for popular songs played by marching band (all in MP3 format). Cadences are cool for generic 3rd down stops, 4th down stops, defense takes the field, D on 3rd down and 4th down, etc. Some sites download after you click the song, some sites you'll need to right click and save target as...

Oklahoma State Marching Band

ECU Marching Band (includes Smoke on the Water, You Can Call Me Al, Any Way You Want It)

Western Michigan Marching Band

University of Texas Drumline (great cadences)

Purdue

I'll keep 'em coming. Let me know what you think.

Ha, I like Tequila on the Purdue band website.

I love some of the Oklahoma State ones too, but a lot of the older year versions are in .wma. Crazy Train and Welcome to the Jungle are great though.

True, some of the sites aren't gonna have everything in MP3, but you can get alot of cool stuff if you're picky. Test the clips out and on the TV when setting up the sounds in the game. Some clips/band versions of songs will sound better than others.

Here are crowd sound clips from sounddogs.com. You'll have to do the searching because there are thousands of sound clips on the site. I at least linked you to the crowds section. Just right click the clip in the Preview column to save (MP3 format).
Crowds section:
http://www.sounddogs.com/subcategories.asp?Type=1&CategoryID=1019
Crowds - Cheers:
http://www.sounddogs.com/results.asp?Type=&CategoryID=1019&SubcategoryID=18
Crowds - Booing:
http://www.sounddogs.com/results.asp?Type=&CategoryID=1019&SubcategoryID=15
Crowds - Stadiums:
http://www.sounddogs.com/results.asp?Type=&CategoryID=1019&SubcategoryID=72

They have so much stuff to choose from (interior crowds, exterior crowds, chants, screams, boos, clapping, explosions, trains, cars, missiles, etc.). I'm sure someone could have fun with these.

Thanks for the JMU links. That takes me back to my DCI days...now I'll have to go dig up some great DCI clips to throw in there!

Here's what I found for DCI.

I'm not sure what format the clips are in.
Just a preliminary search of course.

Yeah it's not as easy to find as it once was and when my computer crashed a year ago I lost A LOT of my best files. Drumline Parking Lot is no more either. I've made some nice cuts this morning of a few clips so I'll get them posted here soon. Just stuff I've taken from JMU and cut into a "game friendly" format.

Stanford University's marching band seems to have ALOT of popular music in marching band style but they don't have clips on their website:

http://www.stanford.edu/group/lsjumb/album/index.html

They have a greatest hits album (1970-1998) that's got so many songs!

I gotta get me these clips!

Yea, I edited the Pirates of the Caribbean one twice, so I could get the brass part of it. I have a short one that I may use for tackles for loss and a longer version that I might do during timeouts.

If your clip is smaller than 500 kb you can post it here. I know it has to be under 500 kb 'cuz you're a Soph and so am I on this forum and there's a file size limitation. That's why I couldn't get other files posted.

They are an amazing band! Wow! - They cover everything! Honky Tonk Woman, Spoonman, Take Me Out, She Blinded Me With Science, Walkin' On The Sun, Where It's At, Our House, All Right Now, Radar Love, Throne Room Fanfare (from Star Wars), Zoot Suit Riot, Ants Marching, you get the idea...

Here's the direct link to the files, organized by albums:

So i just need to download what I want and then move them into a folder called "PS3"?

Newski
08-19-2008, 09:26 PM
Actually, it has to be in a folder titled MUSIC. I make a desktop folder titled MUSIC, download the songs I want into it and copy the MUSIC folder onto the flashdrive. I also delete everything on my flashdrive before the copy so there's just MUSIC on it.

Adidas410s

You don't have to do that much work. The folder can be called whatever...just get it on your flash drive, go to your PS3, and go to music. Find the flash drive and there is an option to "show all" (don't remember exactly what it's called) and it will show you all the folders on the USB device. Then open the folder you want, select copy all, and your songs will all be added to your ps3.

I'm figuring that with Patch #2 out (for XBox at least), we'll be seeing more users looking for ALL sound clips options.

Newski

Well, I got Patch #2 and am sad to see/hear that they removed ALL stadium sound clips when you are playing as a visitor. Unless I am mistaken, I played two games last night, both on the road and there were none of the clips that I added or that played before the patch.
This sucks. I don't know why they would remove something that was working great.
So much for everyone enjoying clips as a visitor.

can someone explain to me in lehman's terms how to customize music on your PS3? Keep in mind, that I'm an idiot and not very computer savy. Can I just go on the internet on my ps3 and go to some of the utopia links where they have the music saved and saved it that way. Please someone explain. How intimidating how it be everytime I score I play "it's raining men"
