Key Players
The biggest player this year for EKU will be senior Matt Wood. He has put up some in the pat years and looks to be a big threat from outside. This team is very young from building up and needs so of their younger players to step up.

30 is a pretty good preseason rank. Good luck. I have a question, does this game in recruiting have states where usually all the big recruits come from? Like Florida and Texas with football? And if Michigan is a good recruiting state? Good luck this season.

Thanks! I haven't paid to much attention to what states have the top recruits but each state has it's specialties and the number of recruits in a state differs.

EKU started the new season off very slow and quickly was down 17-3. Things weren't looking good until freshman Jack Hess started a rally. The game went into the half 34-34. EKU came out great and was barley edging out Memphis. Brandon Moore hit some clutch free throws down the strech to help lead EKU to a 58-52 victory.

EKU started off great this game and soon got off to a 10-0 run on Gonzaga. There was not a whole lot of scoring in the first half and the half ended with EKU on top 25-23. Freshman center Pinnock got injured out for 2 days with mild back spasms. Gonzaga had a lead but EKU stepped it up again and went on a 11-0 run. Gonzaga tied up the game with 4:20 to go. EKU then never let Gonzaga back into the game and won 57-49.

Yeah, that would be great. The NCAA is a long shot and I still have some very good teams to play.

The game started off very back and forth and neither team seemed to be able to keep a lead. It went into the half with La Salle leading 35-33. EKU came out fired up for the second half scoring 7 points in 0:28. With 2:40 to go in the game freshman forward Sanders hit a mid-ranged jumper to take the lead 59-58. But La Salle ended up taking a one point lead with 0:56 to go. EKU was feeling so pressure but Brandon Moore stepped up and gave EKU a 1 point lead with 0:39. But Moore made a mistake on defense and fouled a jump shot that was made and one. He made the free throw to give La Salle a two point lead with 0:29. EKU could have taken the final shot but saw someone open down low and............stolen. EKU couldn't seem to foul and La Salle scored 2 more points with 0.8 seconds to go. La Salle won 68-64.

EKU looked to put down the Jaspers easily by starting off leading 10-0. But Manhatten would not go down that easily, by coming back with an 11-2 run of their own. It stayed very close and the half ended with EKU up 31-28. EKU toke a 1 point lead with 3:00 to go and knew this would be a close one. Manhatten kept coming and took a 1 point lead of their own with 1:40 left. EKU was up by 1 and it was Manhatten's ball with about 30 seconds to go. They got a wide open 3 shot and missed. EKU's Matt Wood hit 2, 1 and 1 bonus free throws to give them a 3 point lead with 0:12. The Jaspers had one more chance and missed. EKU added on another FT and won 58-54.

I don't know how I went up after losing to La Salle, but it works well for me. I have to play Kansas next, and they are probably the toughest team I play all season.

EKU started off good for playing such a good team and took a quick 9-4 lead. But that lead didn't last long and Kansas had a 20-13 lead. Things kept on getting worse for EKU as they found themselves down 12 at one point. But they fought back and with Kansas's last second basket at the half, EKU was only down 35-30. EKU started the second half strong and they were up 38-37 with 9:48 to go. Kansas had a 56-50 lead with 3:19 to go, but by the time there was 1:45, they were only up 61-58. At 1:13 EKU made it a one point game. Kansas had a 65-64 lead with 0:34 to go, and EKU need something good to happen. With 0:16 to go Matt Wood was fouled for EKU and made 2 huge FT's to give them a 1 point lead. J.R. Giddens missed a shot for Kansas with 4 seconds remaining and EKU ended up adding on 1 more FT. EKU wins 67-65.
