In the nextgen version of ncaa what is the best way to read the defense for zone or man to man PRESNAP? Also one more thing i ordered the VG sports package and I cannot find the place to log back into there website to check for updated strategy articles. Help on either of these issues will help me greatly thanks.

VG just recently made changes to their forum, so that might have affected you. You should have gotten an email from them with some instructions.


Regarding defensive reading, there are a few different strategies. One thing you can do is line up in an 'unbalanced' formation such as I-Form Twins:

WR...................OT..OG..C..OG..OT..TE
.........WR.....................Q
..................................FB
..................................RB

Not 100% effective against all defensive formations, or plays within a formation, but it helps in a lot of situations. Let's assume you get a 4-3 called against this. Generally zone will look like this:


............................S..................S
........................LB.......LB............LB
CB....................DE....DT.....DT.....DE.....C B
WR...................OT..OG..C..OG..OT..TE
.........WR.....................Q
..................................FB
..................................RB

Note the CB's.

Versus man, you'll generally see this:

............................S..................S
........................LB.......LB............LB
CB......CB............DE....DT.....DT.....DE
WR...................OT..OG..C..OG..OT..TE
.........WR.....................Q
..................................FB
..................................RB


You can toy around in practice mode to get a feel of how it looks from different defensive alignments vs different offensive sets.


Another thing you can do is to motion a WR across the formation. Again, not always 100%, but pretty good.


You can also watch (if you have widescreen) the cornerbacks after the snap to see how they move.


I'm sure other people have other tricks.

I just recently bought a 42 inch 1080p/i hd tv fluffy and i still cannot seem to see the DB's. Is there a different camera view I can put on? Also I found out that i have one of the older 360's that cannot hookup through HDMI. But shouldnt this tv be sufficient enough to see the DB's? Maybe a setting in my tv i need to adjust? Input would help ty for your first reply.

Make sure your 360 is set to the right resolution. You won't be able to see the CB's before the snap unless you zoom out. Post-snap, the camera will zoom out so you can see them. The camera system is kinda dumb on current gen compared to last gen.

I always to a pre-snap zoom out just to look at the alignment. One thing to keep in mind is that you need to really learn your playbook and understand what you're going to do with a given play once you've made your read. Very important.

geez guess im the only dumby that bought the VG sports package. Maybe it was just a scam? Being they dont have an updated webpage or anything to login to to check for updated schemes.
