Official College Hoops 2K9 Wish List Thread (360, PS3)

As you will see below, there are defined categories for gamers to post each of their wish list items in. We ask that UCS members follow the guideline below.

Gameplay: Anything relating to on the court game play, not including bugs or exploits.
Online: Anything relating to online play, statistics, or modes.
Legacy: Anything pertaining to Legacy mode
Controls: Suggestions for improving control layout and ease of use for controls.
Presentation: Stat overlays, pre/post game screens, 'shows', menus, etc.
Details: Includes uniform inaccuracies, stadiums, equipment, player celebrations, etc.
Bugs and Glitches: Errors & problems within the game that detract from the experience.
Misc: Items which do not fit in any of the categories above.

The wish lists will be compiled and forwarded on to 2K.

Do not assume we all have huge TV sets, and please lower the resolution used by the default game so that the in game text is not 1/2-inch tall and needs to be squinted at to readFixed.

- 2K Nav is clunky and too tough to find certain modes/features.

- Nebraska uniforms incorrect

Bugs and Glitches: Errors & problems within the game that detract from the experience.

- During game, The 'Key Stats' under "Quick Stats" have stats for Away and Home teams mixed up.
- Announcers will sometimes give wrong score margin. 5-4 lead, but Lundquist says it's an 8-point differential.

Misc: Items which do not fit in any of the categories above.

Legacy:
Please do us silly gamers a favor and include some kind of "Average pts/week" stat in Legacy recruiting. I know I have X number of points for the season, but when you give me 300 pts/week, I forget that at that rate I'll run out of points pretty quickly.

Bugs & Glitches:
I was watching College Hoops Tonight, and it showed a stat line where a team had won a game with 47 points on 9-26 shooting, or something like that. I looked at the actual box score, and it was more like 15-31 shooting. I could not find any statistic from that game that would have given 9-26 as a result.

Bugs and Glitches:
When a player gets their shot blocked they stay in the shooting animation until the ball either hits the floor or is grabbed by the cpu.

Gameplay:
In the 3-pt and Middle Shooting bonus drills, the controlled player does not reset his feet after shooting. So on each shot, he moves just a little forward in the circle. Uncorrected, this means the player will soon be shooting from closer than the circle, and shots will not count. This is very difficult to control due to a lack of very precise controls.

Misc Wishes:
Please consult the create-a-team and control customization options in APF 2k8 for some guidance on making your create-a-school even better, and also allowing your gamers more control over their controls.

Bugs:
6th man needs some work. I'm playing in a Hawaii tournament, at Hawaii, and I'm listed as the home team (probably a bug in itself right there). Well, despite the fact that I'm on their floor, I'm getting the home count benefit of not having the screen shake during a FT attempt. Any game, no matter whether it's a tournament or not, where it's not on my home floor, the screen should probably shake. We should at least assume neutral site if it's not my home court.

- Penn appears as the Ivy League automatic bid in every tournament.
- Some teams don't show up properly in the bracket. For instance, in my most recent tournament, NC State showed as "North Carolina S" and Boston showed as "Boston Universit". Both showed the proper logo, but Greg Gumbel's audio called them "The away team".

i would like for there to be a little icon in-game that would tell me how many timeouts i have left. every coach is aware of his timeouts, but when i'm actually playing the game, i'm handling 8 things at once, i can't remember whether i have 3 or 3 to's left, and my # of timeouts determines my strategy sometimes. just 5 yellow dots next to each team in the score overlay.

Legacy- The ability to edit the training by position. Right now you can change the whole team or the individual player. If you could do it by positions, that would be awesome.

More accurate hoop styles

I would like to see the red light light up when the shot clock or time expires. And make hoops such as the NBA ones where the backboard lights up.

Allow editing of arenas with No Team (even if all you can change is the hoop, but floor paint editing is wanted too)

Import NBA stadiums from NBA 2K, I would at least like to be able to play in an authentic NBA arena if I get this choice rather than an out of scale, bad representation of one.

MORE AUTHENTIC STADIUMS, I don't like playing in the generic looking ones that have scale issues, and please make ones that won't be around for much longer, such as MacArthur Court in Eugene (I could help get you pictures) Also try and make the National Championship stadium a little more realistic, possibly consult whoever is organizing it to get a little bit of an idea how everything will look.

Improve the post game celebrations. If my team just won on a buzzer beater, maybe show a dog pile. If we just win a blow out, have players give high fives, then line up and shake hands and stuff, I don't like the whole stand around thing waiting for Greg Gumbel to give his post game. If my team just won the National Championship (or any tournament game) show a little more enthusiasm, maybe show them hoisting the trophy into the air, or jumping around cause they just got to the elite 8 or final four.

Bugs:

For some reason, sometimes when I shoot a freethrow the help text box will disappear and my free throw will automatically miss.

6th man needs a lot of tweaking. The crowd doesn't get excited anymore after you go up by a lot of points, or when you are down by a lot. In real life usually fans don't give up on their teams like that. Possibly add a fan loyalty attribute so this kind of stuff could be more realistic (like if they aren't loyal then they would give up on their team like in the game) Also, sometimes the crowd doesn't cheer when their team scores. It's kinda awkward when that happens because they should be clapping and it's dead silent. Also crowd noises are getting old and out of date. They have sounded the same for a while now, and they don't sound real at all. I would like to see different crowd noises next year, more noises for different situations. Also when players are at the freethrow line, the sound sounds like a demolition or something, no noise a crowd could make.

Sometimes when I try and take a charge my guy falls forward when impacted from the front.

2K Nav is very clunky and glitchy at times

For some reason my settings get reset. This usually happens at the start up menu, it asks me if I want to automatically connect to 2K, even though I already said yes (this doesn't happen often)

Almost every game that I play in my dynasty, the cutscene option and replay setting get turned off, even though I turned those both on and saved my settings and so on. It gets annoying to have to manually turn those on.

I have my PF playing center, and a PF playing PF. And when I start the game everything is right, but when I use on the fly subs, and choose my starting lineup, it puts the PF who should be playing PF to C, and the other way around. It's super annoying to have to change it everytime I want to sub my starters back in

the heck is .docx format anywayThe new standard format saved to by Microsoft Word 2007. It's called Office Open XML, and is basically Office Document + XML, which is Microshaft's response Open Document Format, if memory serves.

It's also a way for Microsoft to make it so that third-parties can more easily read Word documents, since it's now XML rather than the binary of old.

Bugs and Glitches: Audio Issues

To expand on this issue, already posted:
Some teams don't show up properly in the bracket. For instance, in my most recent tournament, NC State showed as "North Carolina S" and Boston showed as "Boston Universit"This isn't just a bracket issue. This is an issue in the overall game database itself. It can also occur in the game itself. For example, I just played a game against Northwestern State, and their name was truncated to "Northwestern S" during pre-game introductions and starting lineups. Like the bracket, they were called "The Away Team" (despite actually being the home team). During the game, audio was proper, however.

I then played a game at Central Arkansas, though Verne claimed we were in the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

Finally, it seems that even with a simple last name like "Dale", I am still called "the head coach". My suspicion is that this is an issue with the game, and not my name. I assume if a player was named "Dale" he would be referred to by his name and not his number. I'll check this to find out at a later date.

Possible Bug?
The CPU attempted, on multiple occasions, to sub in a day-to-day injured player automatically for me. Even putting him far down the bench and limiting my bench depth didn't fix this issue.

Feature Request
Allow users to use a suffix with last names. For example, if a user wanted to create Larry Bird Jr, and put "Bird Jr" as the last name, I don't believe the game would recognize it as "Bird". Tacking on suffixes could be taken care of in a separate step and would allow for more dynamic names.

After watching the Nova-Pitt game and then playing a quick game with the two here are a few things I'd like to see as far as Gameplay

1)Travel calls. I like randomness in games (I really really like the erratic passes at times or the players diving to the floor for the ball) and considering traveling or palming calls have become a 2-3 times a game call, I'd like to see them randomly happen more.

2)Technicals. Correct me if I am wrong but these aren't in the game? I'd like to see them called on the coaches, at random points in the game. For example in the last game I played I had a bullshit charge called on me, I'd like to see some fight out of my coach.

3)More motion/cuts by my team when I'm not calling a play. I'd like to be able to run a motion offense, I just feel like the movement is not always there when I am in the half court set with my PG. The players just sometimes stand in their sets.

4)Sweet blocks when the player goes up on the break and gets either blocked by exposing the ball or blocked off the glass.

Glitches/issues:

1) I should probably write this in the regular 2k forum as a question, but when I switch my primary defense during the game from man-to-man to 2-3 it still stays man-to-man unless I switch it each possession via the call play function on the d-pad. How does that work?

Enjoy 2k8 while you can. Next year there will not even be a choice. Thanks to EA sports somehow sweet talking the NCAA, 2k sports will not be making a 2k9 college hoops game. I do not know many details, but it is pretty much due to EA's contract with the NCAA that limits 2k sports with what it can and/or cannot do. I hope this is not true but read it in one of the video game mags at Walmart while waiting for my car to be serviced.

I was really pissed when this happened to the NFL football. I am even more pissed now if this is true. EA has been lacking of late and does not even compare to 2k sports in sports gaming. EA had damn better step it up in basketball and madden, of late their sports games have sickened me. Now all I have to look forward to is mediocre at best sports games.

Thank you NCAA and EA for slowly ruining it for this sports gamer. If EA's efforts and quality do not step up, the only EA game I will buy is college football.

Im not sure if it was already posted somewhere, but i thought that CH wasnt going to be made because of a deal that the NCAA made with EA or something. can anyone either correct me or confirm this for me.

And if i were to make any changes

Legacy: injuries injuries injuries it seems like everytime i try to make a team my best player always gets injured at the worst times or get more then once.

Make recruiting much more entertaining other then that stupid Pre-season recruiting league thing i like the game but i dont want to waste majority of my playing time playing high school games.

Effects: I know im getting practical but it seems like everyshot made is a swish maybe some rim bouncers every so often would help and im not talking about ones that bounce on the rim and go real high to come down for a lucky make. im talkin about like bouncing back and forth and such. or maybe a in and out shot every so often would be neat.

gameplay: it really bugs the piss outta me when i shoot a wide open three with like chris lofton and brick it but i play some guy thats like a 70 overall shooter with two people contesting the shot swishes it might be just me but still improve shooting in somehow.
