One suggestion for the Campus legend mode, I really think the gameplay in campus legend mode should be the same gameplay as dynasty (i.e.- you can control all of the players on the field as well as pick your own plays). Or at least, you should have the choice up front of whether you want to play with the "first person" style of play or the classic game mode.
Campus legend mode as potential to be a great game mode (the high school tourney etc. are great features) but I play dynasty mode more because I actually get to play the game rather than have the system pick my plays and control the other 10 guys on the field.
I think the whole appeal and idea behind CL mode is just what you are asking it not to be. As a Campus Legend you can only control your own player and what your teammates, coaching staff, etc do is up to them.
A stand-out freshmen WR wouldn't call the plays, would he?
The biggest problem I have with CL is the freakin' camera. Blocking on punt returns is a joke. Doing anything away from the ball is a joke. It moves too much. I'll take traditional wide camera angle please.

The biggest problem I have with the CL mode is that you don't have the option of being a NCAA coach at the end of it like you could on last year's PS2/Xbox version....[glare]

.It's bad when you're losing in CL that the game picks two consecutive run plays with 1:41 to go in the game. It seems that when you're on defense, especially on 3rd and 10-15, the game will always call a CB Blitz leaving two wide recievers just past the first down line open and the quaterback hits them for a first and ten. It's frustrating.

I think an important part of Campus Legend mode should be the atmosphere of the stadium. I think the pregame show should not only be brought back, but improved and extended, because the player would be able to feel like they are there in the stadium. At home, the cheers at the beginning of the game and the excitement should be implemented in the game. On the road, the boos as your team steps on the field should be downright deafening, especially in stadiums known to have a hostile environment. I think the momentum meter should be taken out, instead, you should be able to feel the shift of momentum.
Also, you should be placed in the locker room before the game, be given a weather report, and choose the equipment you wear.

I love this option as I am a dad and don't have all kinds of time to play dynasty. I wish you could adjust your playbook and such but I suppose if you're a player you just need to make plays. I like creating myself as a QB, MLB, and RB. So far I made it to my 4th year only once but have never won a NC. I keep going back and forth between an option QB or balanced. I think balanced is better but the option is killer in the flexbone.

oh, and another thing, the playbook for the campus legend mode should not be player specific, (Option QB) the playbook should be from the college you choose, which would affect your decision greatly. For example, at Notre Dame, Charlie Weis's offense is a downfield, I-form offense, but if you take an option quarterback there, you get that flexbone/wing offense where the fullback is the #1 ball carrier. THAT IS WRONG

Yes! If one thing needed to be changed in the Campus Legend mode, it's this. The playbook should be team specific no matter what type of player you pick. The coach (AI) should then pick the best plays for your type of player. Not specific player formations i.e. flexbone for option QBs. Having said that, the flexbone is a really fun offense if you love the option (why else would you pick an option QB?) and power football. My QB had 2600+ yards rushing, 1400 yards passing and 36 rushing TDs his freshman year! Of course I use Nebraska.

The CPU AI should be tuned for the position a user plays. I mean, it's pretty ridiculous that the CPU QB decides never to throw the ball to my direction, when I am playing CB. This is especially true during the practice mode. CPU AI rarely throw in my direction, nor does it even run in my direction. I know the QB will throw once I take control of my guy, but no way in hell I would do that, especially with the dynamically changing camera angle, which I get easily confused. I had many practice which I came out with zero point...thus no progression. So here are two things, EA. Change camera angle, and have the cpu ai "throw me the damn ball," as keshawn johnson once said.

Need to fix the camera angle first. Stupid as shit
Then they need to fix the AI and play calling. I'm pretty sure teams like Florida and USC aren't going to call 9 I-form triple options each drive.
Maybe training games like in Fight Night (weight lifting) could be implemented?

Two things, one already stated: Coach option at end of 4 years.
Also, too easy to move up the depth chart and stay the starter. There were no dynamics to the depth chart. If I had a good practice I moved up, but a bad practice, I never went down. A 5th string freshman LB was starting with 5 games to go.

Can you transfer to another school on campus legend?
After having a great year my freshman year at tailback for Ohio, the senior QB graduated and some dipshit took over. Through seven games the asshole has thrown 24 picks. Granted, I lead the nation in rushing and I have doubled the output of any receiver on the team, but I can't stand the idiot and I want to leave for greener pastures.

wow, i just came up with a great idea for CL Dbs:
Dynamic Matchup
If the reciever you are matched up against has a large attribute difference, the game should assist you more with your coverage as the stat differences favor you more.
Stats that should be compared:
Spd vs. Spd: Obvious adv. or disadv.
CB Man Cvg vs. WR Route Run.: If favors cornerback, the game should lock on to the reciever and help you stay with your man.
CB Zon. Cvg. vs. QB AWR: If favors cornerback, the corner should have the player that is the biggest threat to his zone highlighted, and the quarterback vision should show.
CB Cth vs. QB ThP: If favors the corner, there should be less drops made by CB
CB Jmp. vs. WR Jmp.: Whoever it favors should have an increased likelyhood of catching a jump ball. (lets say you have 90 vs. 90, and both are jocking for positon, both should have an equal chance of catching ball
CB AWR vs. WR AWR: If favors corner, WR should have small highlighting to help keep track of him
DB TKL vs. RB BTK: If it favors the DB, you should not have to time up the hit stick so good, but if it favors the RB, the hit stick window should be a very quick split second.
Look back feature: In man coverage, the corner does not even look for the ball, so in lock on mode, the player should hit a button like RB or something so they could look back and see the ball. Plus, make the ball easier to see when it comes out of the QB's hand.
Oh yeah, this doesn't just have to be for DBs either, you could use these dynamic matchups for any position out there, i was just showing an example of how you could make the individual matchups in a game more interesting. Also, in the pregame show they should pick out your matchup and compare your player to the opponent that you will be faced with for most of the game: CB vs. WR and vice versa, RB vs. teams best linebacker, QB vs. secondary, best OL vs. best DL...
This game could be so much better if little things like this were highlighted. It would immerse the player in the game.

Another thing they should do is allow you to tryout for KR and PR in practice, esp. if you play CB or something. If you have a good athlete at CB, you might want him getting the ball in space so he can do his thing. (Devin Hester at Miami) I have never played on PR or KR at all in this game even though my player is 99 OVR on the depth chart for it, and is #1 on the depth chart. So maybe after your player is starting you should be able to go to practice and practice your KR or PR to improve your skills there.

They should try first-person view
They have to, absolutely have to, expand the CL mode outside of the game. Practice, then evening activity? WTF?
CL has potential, but in 08, it just doesn't begin to live up to what it could be.
Needs offseason workouts, the ability to get replaced by younger, better players (maybe that's in, I don't think so though), better camera system, better inseason system (replace/renovate that evening activity system..clicking a is not my idea of fun or exciting).
The high school playoffs is an absolute blast though.
