guy at OS has a new idea to help, I might test it out with PMs sliders and see if it helps
This could be the best football game of all time, but the turnover issues just kill it for me. I experimented by editing some ratings and got a fantastic game. We could fine tune this thing to get ideal game play but we need global edits to make the adjustments. Someone stepped up and made a program for the 2K series, and I hope it's possible on this level.
My experiment included the following adjustments.
+10 QB AWARENESS
+10 QB CARRY
+15 RB/FB CARRY
+10 WR/TE CARRY
-30 LB/CB/SS/FS CATCH
-20 LB/CB/SS/FS SPECTACLUAR CATCH
-20 LB/CB/SS/FS CATCH IN TRAFFIC

Hmmmmmmm, just wonder if there would be much difference between players after that coupled with the royal pain in the freaking ass it would be to do this year in and year out in the dynasties!

It would be a huge pain in the ass to edit even one season...let alone every subsequent season! :(

Could you edit subsequent seasons?
One thing to bear in mind is that if you only play a couple of seasons, you really only have to get your schedule for the first year and any conference teams you don't play. You might win your bowl game by picking off seven passes, but them's the breaks.
Does anyone know how new recruits look along those ratings? Not so much for the offesnsive players, but I wonder if there is a high catch rating bias in the initial roster that dies off over time. INT's were a huge issue early in my Texas dynasty for '07, but they eventually died off. I thought it was due to a switch to Heismann from AA, but it could have been that new recruits showed up with systematically lower catch ratings. I wasn't thinking about that, so I didn't pay attention at the time (although I will look out for it now).
EDIT: This is also something to bear in mind when using Playmakers' sliders. He builds some crazy alumni rosters from the gound up and so his sliders reflect those ratings.

Playmakers said that his rosters do help because he made changes like these
and I will look into the whole recruits versus defaults as far as the defenders catch ratings and I might look at the carry ratings for rbs and receivers

I'm sorry but this is simply nuts. To make all those edits to every team every time I played and then edit back is silly IMO. If you don't edit back it will fock up all the stats in your dynasty moving forward for the CPU.

Wait - can you edit that kind of stuff in-season?

nope
then how will you even deal with the CPU getting screwed up stats for the season or do you not care?
