My tip and strategy is to let the computer control it. ;)

I might control him at the start of a play for run support and then get off him if it's a pass. I will also control him and try to grab an INT whenever I can.
Of course I miss and give up the big play now and then.
But I'm not a full time safety kinda guy....more of a MLB, DT type.
