The best thing about this video is when it shows the CL playing safety. The camera angle looks very playable. That is something, even though EA said it was fixed, that I was worried about. Now, on AA or Heisman, I just hope it's not too easy to get big time offers and advance too easily through the depth chart. In this video the QB becaomes a starter at FSU as a freshman. I hope that is a result of JV or Varsity and won't be the norm for AA or Heisman. Man, CL has me excited, which is something I thought I'd NEVER say.

Man....now that I see the player has the ability to be redshirted if he doesn't see the field....I might try to take my QB to Texas now instead of SMU or UNT....:D

Wow, the camera angle for the safety is really nice.

The High School playoffs looks really fun also.

I can't wait.

Wow, Papa, I didn't even pickup on the RS thing. That is cool.:)

I wouldn't worry about getting playing time right away. I mean if you feel you are advancing too fast, you can make rules for yourself like maybe only playing half the snaps in practice or something. IDK it sucks but yea.

Yea....that's always something I was hoping for and luckily...it caught my eye once they were lookin' at the players' report card. I wish there was a way you can choose to redshirt as soon as you get to the school to make sure they don't toss your player in the game for a couple plays.

Oh man, I cannot wait. I'll play the heck out of this while I wait for people to get the rosters done. Then I'll probably still play a lot anyway.

Yeah, but it sure would be nice to have to go 100% at a big school or sit for 2-3 years.

This campus legend mode looks outstanding. I'm anxious to get my hands on it.

This is off topic but...I noticed about 80% through this video, as the camera panned the upper tier at Death Valley it looked like there were some empty seats. I was hoping that for '08' the fluctuating attendance would make it's return. Your attendance visually going up or down to me is a neat little touch...kinda cool to see your stadium fill closer to capacity as your team improves...or becomes a graveyard if ya sux balls. Maybe I'm seeing things...or this video doesn't necessarily mean your attendance varies....but I hope so.[smile]

Does that mean that in regular dynasty mode (ie NOT Campus Legend), we'll now be able to assign redshirts AFTER the season (as it's really done)?

That has always bothered me about the series. If I forget to redshirt somebody before the season starts and he still doesn't play a down, that shouldn't count as a year of eligibility.

I thought that last year in CG for me, it didn't end up counting as a year of eligibility.

I think you're right, if a guy didn't play a down and hadn't RS'd the game would count that as his RS year in CG IIRC.

After re-watching it, I think you are right. Maybe they ran another CL taking over Lee. Anyway, I still hope it's not easy to climb the Depth Chart rapidly.

After watching it again....I'm happy to see that you can be a TE finally. Now I'm not sure which one I want to do....it will be either a QB, TE, or MLB....:D

Lee changed his number to #1 this year, although I doubt EA got that change into the game (his half brother Anthony Kelly will wear #9 this year).

I really wish they had that option for playing defense in the rest of the game. I hate that the camera gets locked on the QB's POV when you are on defense. You should be able to take an appropriate view of the player you select on defense.

True. But that means a lot of code for a new camera angle. Yeah, you can see replays in anyway you want. But I think it would take a lot of effort to implement it into the game this year.
Put it down in teh wishlist section. :)

Camera logic is actually one of the easier things to do on most game engines, since it is built in. The same engine is used for replays as for the game. The only difference is in the pan and zoom logic they use to 'point' the camera during a play automatically.

A free camera option would really be the best, but they would need to do a lot more control simplification in order to make that work (and honestly they need to do that anyway).

Wow, I totally disagree. Not with your analysis, but with your wish-list bullet point. I want to play in front of a loud, lunatic, frenzied crowd every game. I HATED it in Madden '05 when I went on the road to play some garbage team because the crowd would always be silent. I have been wishing for as long as I've been playing Madden/NCAA that they would go the OTHER way and make a truly loud, engaged crowd.

Sports without a good crowd are just some guys in tight pants running around. It needs a big crowd.

As for CL, it looks fine so far. I'm looking forward to it if for no other reason than after four years you just start over. The problem with Dynasty mode is that eventually your team just becomes this unstoppable juggernaut. I can tell I will be driven crazy by having the CPU call garbage play after garbage play, but at least that will even things up a bit.

If I'm going to use a team like Buffalo, I agree with CFR, I would rather have to win to put butts in the seats. As for CL, the redeeming quality of having the CPU call your plays is that it will call the other team's plays too. Hopefully, it's not too bad.

Mr. Rad

I agree with wanting fluctuating attendance. This adds a lot to me. If I can increase attendance by winning, that's a cool reward.

Completely agree. I would love to play as DBs, but the camera angle makes that hard.

Yeah I always have used a DT/NT and occasionally a DE for this reason. I have never thought I could cover anyone even with a LB because you will inevitably go off screen.

I look at it the same way Mr. Rad. Also to me is just seems more realistic as well....if your struggling or the team your playing is, most times the stadium won't be packed to the rafters. And during blowouts the crowd starts to head for the gates is kinda cool too. I do understand the other poster wanting a loud rocking crowd....but I think you should have to earn it.

But it A) Adds to the total effect and B) Adds realism to the game. If your team sucks pure ass, there isn't going to be a packed stadium, plain and simple. If you have a top team, then yes, you will have a full, loud stadium. I like CFR's idea. That would add a major element of realism to the game.

They used to have fluctuating attendence. It was back in the 90's. They also used to have a little chart that showed where your players were drafted into the NFL, round and overall number etc.

Just 2 small things they had in the game a decade ago, and for some reason decided to drop. Oh well, at least we still have the mascot game.

I have questions, too.
Can you be an ATH?
Can you switch positions?
Can you transfer?

I'm excited about this mode. If the answers are all no it won't prevent me from playing this mode. It would just be cool to see. It would be awesome if coaches could recruit you to play different positions.

Good questions. If the answer is "yes" to any of those, it sure would add some depth and realism to this mode.

I still can't believe they bothered to throw in high school playoffs. [cool]

I would guess not because you play out the last few games of your high school career.
