http://www.ncaastrategies.com/images/news/kotaku.jpgKotaku put up a blog today poking fun at the next step in Xbox 360 achievements brought to us courtesy of the advertising department at EA. It actually is pretty amusing.

EA aren't short of cash. Especially when it comes to cash they rake in from licenced football titles. Doesn't matter! You can always squeeze an extra dollar or two out of Madden and NCAA, and that's exactly what Electronic Arts are doing this year, with the upcoming NCAA 08 to feature advertiser-sponsored...achievements.

Complete a "Play Now" or "Dynasty Mode" game with a red zone efficiency rating of 100% and you unlock the Old Spice Red Zone Perfection achievement. You'll earn the Old Spice Red Zone Shutout gong if you manage to complete a "Play Now" or "Dynasty Mode" game without giving up a touchdown while in the Red Zone. Finally, you'll attain the prestigious Pontiac 4th Quarter Comeback achievement if you can come back from 14 or more points down at the start of the 4th quarter.

It's only a matter of time before we'll get advertisements between plays of the game, and have to press a button to get by them.

No way they let you skip them. That would be violating the advertiser's digital property rights.

They should stick them on the load screens with the button mappings. As much as we hate those screens but have to deal with them regardless, they'd definitely get plenty of face time.

I despise the "Have you tried Play It Now?" screens greatly ... I couldn't really like an advertisement any less.
