At first, I thought it was coming out on Monday due to Thanksgiving....I guess I'll pay attention to this thread tommorrow before I see if I can get it after work at around noon.

according to ign and gamespot, the RELEASE DATE is Monday November 19th. i know it fucked me up cause i'm used to things being released on tuesday, but it clearly says, on both pages, and even 2ksports.com lists the official release date as monday november 19th. so there you have it.

and no, i went to walmart at like quarter to 1, and they lady said they can't put anything out until the manager gets there at 7am.

EDIT: alright, maybe i jumped the gun a little, and now i'm as confused as some of you are, because best buy's website lists the release date as the 20th, while the other 3 previously mentioned, including 2ksports, have it as the 19th. i also went to walmart and target this morning, and nothing. now i'm just sort of pissed about the situation because i have class until 5, and if walmart and target here don't have it. i'd have to drive an hour to la crosse to get try and get it, because they have a gamestop and a best buy, but i don't want to drive there if best buy doesn't have it until tomorrow, because i have no faith in the gamestops around here, and if i was to drive an hour after what i've gone through waiting for this mother already, someone is gonna end up in the river.

The last two years (maybe more, I can't remember) the game has been pushed back by a month a day or two before the release.

yeah, but they've always announced that weeks before the release so this year, it seems at least, that everyone will get the game on day 1.

I'm just bitter that it was delayed last year and was then possibly the worst game ever put out on ps2

Yeah CJ, it doesn't look like I'll have it today. I just reserved my copy at Gamestop. The dude said it's coming tomorrow, so I'll just have to pick it up on my way home from school.

Okay, so I went to the following places:

Wal-Mart
Circuit City
Gamestop
Target
Best Buy

None of them had it. Target came the closest --- they had the price tag sticker in the display, but the guy wouldn't give me a copy until tomorrow.

So that was about 90 minutes of driving around wasted.

ya, see, for me, that's the kicker. i've been sort of edgy since my hard drive crashed while i was cramming for a big test thursday night. so i've been running little sleep and whiskey all weekend, so like i say, i'm edgy. so like papa, i'm more upset than i should be over the fact that the two main gaming industry websites, and the official manufacturers website says the damn thing is supposed to be out today. so when i go to walmart last night, go to walmart and target this morning, and call my neighborhood gamestop that's a 45 minutes away and none of them have the game that was released today, well i'm just a tad pissed off. i'm gonna go back to walmart after midnight again, i fully expect to get turned away again, and then i'm going to go back tomorrow morning, and if they don't have the game tomorrow, i'm lighting the fucking building on fire. not over the game, no, i like college hoops, but i'm not that obsessed, i'm lighting the damn thing on fire in the name of honesty. if you say you're gonna have something on monday, that means monday dammit, not tuesday.

I'm not sure how much luck we should expect to have getting the game early beyond anyone who the developers intended to have it. I know for the last 2 years I was barely able to find it without having reserve it. Apparently we don't get alot of copies around here without preorders.

I'll be going to Little Rock, AR Wednesday....and I have decided to leave the PS3 and the game at home so I will actually spend time with family instead of in front of a TV....[laugh]

Just went by Gamestop and they said that they didn't get the game today because of some other big game's release today. Can't remember what it was called.

Went next door to Walmart and picked it up with no problem.

Still haven't got it yet, been to three Walmarts and two Gamestops. I got out of class at 8:30, so I went to the Walmart my mom works at, but they didn't have it. Went across town to the other Walmart, they didn't have it. Went to the Gamestop across the street from the first Walmart, they said they would have it between 10 and 12 (it was 10 when I got there), but I was staying in Ft. Smith all day, so I went to my girlfriend's for a bit, before going to the another Walmart a little closer to my house where they told me they should have it in an hour to an hour and a half, so here I am now. I'm making my dad go down there at 1 if I can get him away from his Rockband game.

I called and asked if their shipment had arrived yet and if College Hoops 2K8 was in there....and some dude said "no, not today....sorry."

So I headed down there to see if I could get some kinda store credit, gift card, etc....since I paid it in full Saturday morning.....so I could go to another store in the Dallas area. Once I said that....long story short....they started going through their boxes and I got it. Ain't that a bytch?

Now I'm waiting on this 2.01 to install so I can run a couple 12 minute/half games with Texas against Oklahoma and Texas A&M. Once I do that....I'll start looking at some jersey/arena combos to decide what team I'll start with once some rosters are done....:D

Best Buy: Award for most poorly organized video game section EVER. Couldn't even tell if the games were in order. Had CH 2k8 for the 360, but not PS3.
Target: No CH2k8.
Wal-Mart: No CH2k8. Also, still no Ratchet & Clank Future, despite the fact that a poster clearly states "Available 11/1" in the video game section. Idiots.
FYE, Upper Floor of Mall: No CH2k8. For any system.

Dejected, I begin to leave the crowded mall, resigning myself to use Amazon.
Then I remember, for whatever reason, we have a FYE on the lower floor as well! (I kid you not, it's directly below and across from the one on the upper floor. I do not understand why they have done this, except one seems primarily music and the other is primarily movies. Both have games though)
