This is my Road to the Show career of Chase David.
Name: Chase David
Ht: 6'2''
Wt: 195 lbs.
Bats: R
Throws: R
Born: 6-11-88
Arlington, TX
David quickly became a national name his final season at Arlington Bowie HS as he rewrote the national record books striking out an astonishing 22 batters per game, besting the previous mark by three strikeouts per game. David became the number one baseball prospect in the nation before breaking his arm in the 5A state championship against Humble Kingwood. Growing up in Arlington he quickly became a fan of Nolan Ryan and on his second birthday got his wish granted as he and his father flew to Oakland to watch Ryan pitch for the first time, and wasn’t disappointed as Ryan struck out 15 batters on his way to a 6th no hitter. This wasn’t the only no hitter of Ryan’s he would attend as almost a year later David would witness Ryan strike out 16 batters on his way to an unprecedented 7th no hitter. After the game Ryan was told of David and his father being in attendance for both games and signed a baseball and jersey of which David still has framed with both ticket stubs. It was at this point David knew he wanted to become a pitcher and would imitate Ryan throwing baseballs up against the fence in the back yard for hours and in last weeks amateur draft the dream came full circle as the Texas Rangers selected David in the first round. Upon arriving at the team facilities he told reporters his family has dreamt of this moment for years and when asked what his goals are David responded by saying, “I now have my chance to be just like Nolan Ryan, to become the greatest strikeout pitcher of all-time.”
