IMO, the coach goals are set just to darn high, and are not realistic. As an example...Utah St., with a two year contract, "Get a bowl bid". I mean...get a bowl bid in two seasons, or I'm freaking fired!....alittle tough on the old coach I think. Baylor...."Beat Texas and Texas A&M, and have a winning season", within a three contract....huh? To me guys, if your trying to play in dynasty mode with one of the weaker programs....and trying to have it be as realistic as possible, these kind of "goals" make it almost not possible.

I want be play the game with one of the "have nots"....and struggle along with them just in hopes of one day having a winning season, without repeatedly getting fired. This is why I was hopeing you could turn off the coach contracts, to avoid your coach profile from being zeroed out every two to three seasons. I realize your overall record will remain intact in your user profile...but it's just kind of a drag your coach profile won't.

Not a big complaint, and not the end of the world, but dang...having the option of having the contracts turn off would have been nice.

Even if you don't get any of the goals they will still extend you if you did a decent job.

yeah, its not an auto dismissal if you dont meet the goals as long as youve done an ok job. I met only 1 of my goals and still got a 2 year extension.

Thanks for the info guys. I was wondering if there was any give to the goals, and it's good news to hear there is some.

I think it depends. Last year I was Nebraska and had a 3 year contract. I didn't meet all the goals within the first year and got canned.

Hmmm ... I wonder what the point of a 3-year contract is, then. Seems to me you should get something out of that, some kind of "buy-out" features, maybe a prestige boost or something. Contracts are a good idea, but it doesn't sound from lax's situation like it's well thought-out.

My coaching goals changed mid-contract. Is that normal? I thought they only changed when you renewed your contract.

In fact, one of the goals (with Temple) was to beat WVU. I popped them on my schedule for season two, and beating them became one of my goals. Wtfbbq?

Thanks for the info guys. I was wondering if there was any give to the goals, and it's good news to hear there is some.I simulated a dynasty the other day with tOSU, met no goals (lost to Michigan but otherwise went undefeated), and got a 3 year extension.

if you lose a star in prestige, the axe is coming.

If I choose Baylor as my dynasty team....I'd better duck. [laugh]
