I have asked a few times if anyone has tried windows media connect to do it. I still haven't gotten the damned thing to connect to my PC (too lazy to find the router instructions to see if it is blocking the ports).

As far as I know there is no way with just media connect. I have my 360 connected to the PC and its just for streaming/viewing stuff and media center. It'll only read music/pictures off flash memory; and no way to ftp as of now. There are sata adapters which connect directly to your PC HD and 360 HD and you use a program like Xplorer360 to transfer files, but they are still around $20 to buy off a website and not as nice as the datel xsata.

I'm with you though, I'd rather see a way developed with how my PC and 360 are setup now w/o any extra kit or memory card.
