I have one of two options for tomorrow. Get the game for the PS2, or buy an Xbox 360 (which I plan on buying eventually anyway), and get the game for the 360. I've heard good things about both versions, but there are some things about the 360 that are a drawback for me i.e. not having 1-AA or created teams, not being able to change accessories. I'm a big dynasty mode guy, so I do like there being no retarded discipline system in that game.

I'm going to get a 360 eventually, so why not get it now so I can play NCAA on it? But there are advantages to the PS2 version. Maybe I should get both? (It'd probably be the last game I'd buy for the PS2).

Does anyone who has played both the current and next gen have an opinion?

What should I do?

Tough call. If I had a 360 I'd probably get it for that, mostly because NCAA would be the main reason I'd own one in the first place and the fact that it'll be a new experience. However, I've felt from the beginning that the current-gens would have the overall better and more complete game, and it looks like that is the case. It really doesn't seem like you can go wrong with either version.

This is my possible plan. I'm definitely getting the PS2 version tom. Down the road if I get bored with it, I'll go out and get a 360 and NCAA, but if the current gen is good enough, I'll wait until next year to go next gen.

I'm in the same boat. I'm getting the PSP version without a doubt as the mobility is the greatest gaming feature ever!

I'm debating on the PS2 or 360 game. I've wanted to get a 360 forever but don't know if it's worth it for just NCAA. I love the PS2 controller and the familiarity of NCAA on my Sony. I'm a I-AA grad too so not having those teams or the ability to create them on the 360 really sucks. After proof reading this post, I just realized my decision. PSP & PS2 - done. Screw Microsoft. F'rs!

I've got both, but honestly my Xbox version will probaby end up on eBay sooner than later.

I was ready for something different. Past gen has cool new stuff, but its still basically the same game.

The 360 version feels new, feels different. Its something to adjust to and after the same engine for the past 5 releases, I was ready for it.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I've gotten every NCAA title since 2003 (I was a nintendo guy before, then they killed themselves by marketing to 5 year olds.), anyway, I think I'm gonna bite the bullet and buy the 360. I'm gonna get a 360 anyway eventually, so I might as well do it now.

Also, like Tricky said, the current gen sounds like it's just the same thing with a few new perks and a roster update. I like the fact that people are saying the 360 version feels "different", even if they don't like it at first. That means it's a brand new game, and not the same one we've had for the past 5 years, just a little more hyped up. We've all bitched about the previous engine, so I think it's time to go to the next gen engine of this game...

Those are my thoughts now, I'll sleep on it, and I may feel different in the morning before heading out to buy the game.

The worst case scenario is I hate it, sell the 360 copy on ebay, and go buy the PS2 version and play it...then just wait for '08 on the 360, and get a few other 360 titles to make it not a complete waste.

having played the xbox and xbox360(demo), I like the 360 better. The xbox version is basically last years game with a different engine. I want to feel like it's different and it doesn't (to me). I don't play online alot, so the "cheese" factor isn't a big deal to me.

If you play online, maybe current gen has more benefits to you, but since I don't, the graphics different and the fact that gameplay is so similar just make me feel like I'm playing a roster update and nothing more.

I feel the same way. It was past due for something different, and the 360 version at least by early reports has more of a "sim" type of gameplay, which is a huge plus for me. Another year of "arcarde" like bombs away and I was going to freaking pull my hair out....what I have left that is.:D
