I had an amazing run with the Kentucky Wildcats this year. I am several years into my legacy. I only had 10 players on my team this year and lost 1 to graduation and 7 left early. I only signed 4 recruits. I am screwed.

Anyone else have this many players leave early?

7???? holy shit that sucks....were they all good enough to leave or were they like 71's and left?

oh and I'm still at Stony Brook so I'm not anywhere close to having anyone leave early yet ;)

[wow]......say hello to the greatest team of all-time :D

One freshmen, one sophomore, and the rest juniors in which two were redshirts. I was only recruiting 5 star prospects. If I didn't sign an entire class, I didn't care and then I cut all the walk-ons. The freshmen was the #1 prospect and was a 6'7" SG with 83 3pt acc. He averaged 29 a game on a team that averaged 128 a game. Six players averaged double digits in scoring.

I took the old Loyola Maramount approach and tried to shoot before 5 seconds ticked off the clock once I passed half court. This was on MOP level.

Anything other than MOP is TOO EASY with any kind of talent. *thumbs up*

Most players don't leave me early for the draft, they just leave b/c they're unhappy. Is that a bad thing?

Do you utilize your "pep talks?" They give a boost to your players confidence, focus, and overall happiness. It also increases the player's ability to increase his skills throughout the season. I give "pep talks" to all my starters at the beginning of the season and then save the last 5 for potential unhappy players during the season.

Naw, I don't give them the pep talks. Most of the ones that are unhappy aren't starters or close to starting for me, so I say to hell with them, you can go play for someone else or just go home.

I am finding that MOP is TOO EASY as well. I am going to have to adjust sliders. I have averaged over 100 points a game the past three seasons.

[wow] how many minutes do you play per half?

I play 10 minute halves.

When I recruit, I recruit size. My starters right now from PG-C are 6'4", 6'7", 6'10", 6'10", 7'2". Coming off the bench I have 5'10", 6'8", 7'0", 6'10", 6'11". Those tall SF's are killer on the press on those cross court passes. As well, I love to press. I probably force 30 turnovers a game on average using the 1211 press. My power forwards average about 15 steals a game between them just stealing the inbounds pass. This leads to alot of quick buckets.

When I sub I do mass substitutions. I play a group no more than 3 minutes at a time and then bring in the next group. This helps keep everyone happy as well. 3 starters average in double digits and 2 reserves average double digits.

I like your style.

I like to have 2 point guards in my starting lineup along with 2 athletic fowards and a stout 7 footer.

On offense, I run motion sets with "zone offense 1" as my bread and butter. I love this set, because I can have success against zone and man defenses. Man to man gets attacked with pick and rolls and feeding the post, while zones are attacked with the spacing it gives with 2 wings and a high post setup.

I like to take my time on offense with a little ball control to get a good shot, so I only score anywhere on average from 50-70 points a game with 12 minute/halves.

On defense, I alternate from the 2-3 zone and man to man while trapping corners out and the post out of both defensive sets.

I haven't been online in a long time due to the coaching legacy taking up all my gaming time. :D

Do you press at all?

Nope.........I tried it and couldn't find any success with it.........

If all my players are above 75 (freshmen are the only exception) then I will play 10-11 players.........if I was good at pressing, I could give them a "Nolan Richardson" style of 40 minutes of hell. :D

In the 1211 press, you can take the player on the ball and get alot of steals if you just hit the R2 and right analog up to catch the ball. It takes timing, but once you get it down it is very effective.

wait, the r2 button actually does something?

I think he means the R1 button. The R2 button just brings up the player icons so you can switch to that player.

I could be wrong though.

I just assumed he meant the 'jump steal button.' I play with the alternate B controller setup cuz it was the closest to Live.......it helps considering NBA Live raised my basketball gaming from 1995 to 2004. :D

In my Duke dynasty, I had 4 of my starters leave for the NBA, they were all juniors. I had only one scholarship to use at the beginning of the season and even when all those players left early I still only had that 1 scholarship. Fucking 2k6. So yeah, it's looking like a down year in Durham most likely.

that's what you get for being Duke.

I was offered the job after Coach K retired and I had taken San Diego, a bottom-feeder in the WCC to the Sweet 16 in just 3 years as coach over there.

Oh and by the way, I changed my coaching style to better fit the hand I had been dealt this year and through simming and playing a few games I won the ACC regular season and Conference tournament and landed a #1 seed in the Big Dance. I am about to face off against #12 Rice in the Sweet 16.

yea...but you're still Duke. Why not go somewhere better, like, Kentucky? :D

In my 4th year into my legacy Duke is 9-6 (Kryzaeezawski retired and this is the first year without him) overall and like 2-4 in ACC and they're still like No. 28 in the RPI. I lost to them 55-40 based basically on I couldn't worth anything.

I really want to get this season over with, I can see me getting a major job elsewhere. I have had no players leave early yet but then again, I'm at Charleston Southern.

I wish, like in NCAA Football, you could try and talk your players into staying instead of entering the draft. I dont like that once your players leave for the draft you have no say or persuation.
