I signed up. I wonder why they went free this year? I am sure they made a little bit of cash last year, even with all the problems. The blackout thing sucks because if they are showing a game and one team is winning by more than 12-15 points they automatically switch, and you cant watch that game online. That blows.

Didnt someone hack into it last year? I remember watching it online for free.

It will be nice to be able to see the big matchups that you usually couldnt get depending on your region.

Last year they were having problems with registered users viewing the games, so cbs opened it up for anyone. Only was free for the day games on the first day.

I would definitely be doing this if my spring break wasn't the same time as the 1st week of the Dance. So instead I'll be watching them all at home on the DirecTV package.

Yeah, me too. Does anyone know if you'll be able to switch games without having to wait in line to get back in? Or can you watch whatever game you want once you're in?

IMHO, this sucks. I'd rather pay $10 and be able to get into game I want to.

I don't have any audio. Anyone know what's up with that?

Thanks for the heads up Maniac. Now I have an excuse to get nothing done at work.

Edit: now I have Metallica S&M.

Edit2: The audio is working for the commercials.

I just switched over to the BC game and the audio is fine. I think it's just the Seton Hall game that's messed up.

CBS = stupid.

The "other game scores" on the TV thing are less delayed than the web broadcast...

So if i have the "local" game on TV, and the game i really want to see on the internet, i'll be seeing the score of the game i really want to see on TV before i see it happen online.

Glad to see that CBS doesn't know what game is actually on in my region.

I've got the BC/Pacific game on TV, and can watch it on the Web, while I should be able to watch the OU/UW-MIL game, which is blacked out, even though its not on in my region!!

Off topic from your issue, but I would assume they can't charge this year because DirecTV bought the exclusive rights, does that seem possible?

maybe you don't have the HD channel or something for your local area? I say this because the same channel, one in HD and the other one showed two different games. the HD showed the ENTIRE duke game, and the other showed the syracuse game. online they wouldn't let me stream the syracuse game so maybe you had the same problem.

03-17-2006, 11:31 AM
The only problem I have had is the stupid thing won't let me go back and watch or listen to games shown in my area earlier in the day. It still gives me the stupid fucking blackout shit, even with the damned archived file.

Also, I don't have to worry about any lines today. I've been in the thing for an hour now. They never turned it off, so I just went in, was 68th in line, and before the "Next Admission" timer got down to 0, I was already in. So I am all set for the rest of the day, no worries about having to wait in line later around gametime at 12:30.

Do they use your ip address or your user info to blackout games. If the Nova game is blacked out at three and it isnt on here, is anyone that doesnt have the Villanova Monmouth game blacked out willing to trade info for a couple hours? Give me a pm, thanks much appreciated.

I'm sure it won't be blacked out for me. I just checked my listings and they are not showing the Nova game in my area, so if you need mine, just let me know.

Anyone else have the Arkansas/Bucknell channel on? The announcers are practicing everything they're going to say. I never knew it was scripted like that. The guy was humming when one of the bands was playing. It's kinda funny.

"This is a good telestrator. It has all kinds of toys on it."

WTF? [laugh]

Yeah, I've heard that on a number of games throughout yesterday and today. Before the Bucknell-Arkansas game, they were sitting there talking about how while all the coaches and players for both teams were already in the locker room shortly before the start of the game, the Bucknell coach was doing his live radio show. They sent someone over after the interview to get the name of the radio guy for some reason. They were sitting there laughing about it and generally chatting. Some interesting conversations.

I've heard they use the zip in your CBS Sportsline account or whatever zip code you registered with on NCAASports.com. Haven't checked that out though.
