You Tennessee fans will love this...

As for UF. The South Carolina loss was pretty bad, but we get a chance to redeem ourselves next week. All of our remaining opponents are in the Top 100 so if we win out with 1 or 2 losses than we should be in the Top 15.

Hell ya with a 29 rpi and good record my hoyas should get a good seeding in the ncaa tourney. I'm think a 4 or 5 seed.

Some guys have already found 6 errors in the RPI regarding whether a certain game should count as home/road/neutral for different teams. I'm not a big believer in the RPI, but I'd much rather have the committee look at these rankings than the top 25 polls.

Not looking good for the Pac 10, from my count only one team was in the top 50 and 4 in the top 100

Texas has beat the current #2, #4, #7, #30, #48 and lost to the #1, #3, and #19 for a 20-3 record.......but we are #8? [down]

If PSU doesn't beat Wisconsin this weekend, their RPI is going to drop faster than the MIR space station, thanks to a home loss against Minny.

If Texas only gets one more loss this year, they will get a 1 spot. The RPI doesnt really matter when you have a lot of head to head match ups to look at. The fact that Texas is 3-2 vs. the top 10 means way more than the RPI ranking.

What's holding Texas down is that they have wins over Prairie View (334) Tx-Pan American (321) Texas St (323)... those games are RPI killers.

They should be posting the updated rankings tonight or tomorrow. I think Texas will actually end up dropping since they only beat Nebraska this week and Pitt beat WVU and Cincy.

If Texas loses 0 or 1 games through the rest of the regular season and wins the Big 12 Tourney, then they are assured a #1 seed.

Tennessee will probably be moving up to #2 in this week's RPI.

If they base it on this, my Aztecs should be in the tourney. 60 in RPI with a 15-6 record.

I would say they have to win the MWC regular season title to be considered a lock. Getting to the MWC title game would help too.

I never figured out how the RPI worked. Do they take the top 65 teams and place them in the tourney? If so, ESPN already has ISU out of tourney contention, yet they're 61 on the RPI...

Basically the RPI is just a tool used by the committee that kinda serves as an index of how good a team has been, by comparing who they've beaten. They've said that they don't really focus on it that much and it's just a statistic that the media embellishes the importance of.

This is true. The media makes it sound MUCH more important than it really is. The committee really breaks down each bubble team's schedule to get a gauge on its good wins, bad losses, etc. And yes, Iowa State has no shot of reaching the Dance unless they win the Big 12 tourney.
