obviously, you want to win the super bowl
and make money
what do you do with the money you make?
besides build/upgrade a stadium
also not advertising
i havent played much madden, and was just curious as to where the xtra money you make goes...
so basically, you just want to spend it all on teh best players?
also, what does more coaching points get you?
sorry for so many questions, but some friends and I are starting franchises and thought i might get some advice from the more seasoned madden players

That is basically it. The more money you make, the the better your team performs, the better condition your stadium is... all combines for an owner rating. What does the owner rating get you? Absolutely nothing /laugh except an ego boost.

Basically you just want to save it up to improve your stadium later on... Or build a new one. You have to be in the black to upgrade or build a new stadium.
so basically, you just want to spend it all on teh best players? Not exactly. There are a lot of teams on the game that you simply can not turn a profit with if you max out your salary cap.

Not sure what you mean by "points" Could you clarify?

See if you can win the Super Bowl and still turn a profit, something I have yet to do. The extra money you make can be used to build a new stadium (around 300 million) hire better coaches or sign a better training staff. Of course you can spend that money to get better players. If you lose money they give you 3 years (I think) to turn a profit. I adds an extra element to the game, like I always have my beer at $1, I want my fans drunk. When you run out of coaching points you are usually fired, it is a way to judge job security. Hope that helps.

I use a little excel spreadsheet I put together to determine my own personal imaginary salary cap. It is the only way I've found to consistently turn a profit.
I simulate a lot and with teams like the Cardinals I find myself only being allocated about 50% of the actual cap.

Thanks for the tip I will try that, usually I can turn a profit, but those years when I feel I am close to the Super Bowl I will blow the rest of my cap just to make sure to get the ring. I always try and save about 10 million, of course I don't pay my coaches crap, but that is there own problem

well, i picked the lions... and they have like one of the best stadiums in the game (and most expensive)
so there goes that... and when i simulated for fun, i still turned a profit
but i lost in the 2nd round of the playoffs i think
one of my friends picked dallas, and he (after one game) is 6 million up
and after one game, im 23 mil in debt... but our salary cap is roughly the same
basically, if we both spent the same on salaries, and he made a profit, and i didnt
i could get fired... while he would not
correct?

You have to be in debt for 3 years before you lose your franchise, they only reason you get fired is from bad coaching (coaching points) since you made the playoffs you should be just fine for awhile.
