I will use this thread to keep track of my death penalty dyansty. I was inspired to do this after reading Fieldings UM dynasty. I hope you dont mind if I use any of your ideas. Also credit goes to Mandibal as I have read some of his stuff.
It will be pretty much the same thing as Fieldings death penalty dyansty, with just a different team. I will use the same rules of engagement while playing on all american with default sliders.
RULES OF ENGAGEMENT
1. Death Penalty:
The death penalty results in a lack of available scholarships for the seasons 2005 through 2009. The specifics of this will be for yours truly to control the team’s 2005-2009 recruiting by not offering ANY scholarships and turning off recruiting assistance. New players will all be walk ons. The seasons will be simulated.
2. Transfers:
The NCAA will be offering any pre-death penalty player the option to transfer without penalty. The application of this is for me to cut the best player(s) at each position to get the minimal roster size. Conversely, any player stupid enough to seek a transfer to Georgia will be denied.
3. Depth Charts:
In an effort to make sure the team isn’t too good, the worst rated player will be made the starter at each position so that the prestige and records of the team deteriorates as quickly as possible.
4. Desired Result:
The result of the death penalty is for the team to approximate a cupcake or 1-AA team when the new coach takes over, preferably a 1* in prestige.
5. Simulations:
A record of the simulated seasons can be found in post #2
6. Coach:
Mark Richt retired after being diagnosed with a rare heart conditon. San Francisco Head Coach Mike Nolan took over the program before being fired after driving UGA into the ground and receiving the death penalty. Shaw High School Head Coach Bernard Willis was hired and thats where we stand now.
8. Nuts and Bolts of Gameplay:
Quarter Length: 5 minutes
Difficulty: All-American
Sliders: Default
Credit for these rules go to Fieldingblue/Mandibal. Edited to comfort by me
