View Full Version : Cecil's Atlanta Falcons Franchise

It's my first year in the franchise, and I'm doing great. I traded TJ Duckett for a RG, since I never used him, and traded my backup LE for Marcus Trufant. Everything was going great. Vick was leading the league in passing, and Dunn was close to the top in rushing. Everything was fine until last game. I was 7-2 entering my game against the Saints. I ran up the score, and foolishly left in Vick instead of letting Johnson finish off the game. So, with 3 minutes left, Vick goes down. I go to look at the injury report, and how cute, its a CAREER ENDING Achilles Tendon injury. I had never even heard of that in this game until this point. Its probably a useless question, but is there anyway to use a code or some kind of glitch to over ride this injury? Because this obviously completely kills my franchise.

Woah! If this happened in real life, would you get a code to overide someone's injury? No! You made a mistake! And you want to cheat because you made a mistake? /evil /evil
I could get to like you...

I didn't make a mistake, I got screwed. It wasn't a pass, he wasn't even involved in the play. So how does he suffer a career ending injury? And no, I don't have Kittner, I dropped him for Brad Banks.

I have never seen a career ending injury. I wonder if it is possible to come back after a few years go by or it is just over. It is so rare to see a career ending injury to a QB in the NFL, the last one I can think of with Joe Theisman. Is he still on your roster? Are you still taking the cap hit.

Yes, he's still on the roster, I put him on IR. The funny thing is that hes still ranked a 73, ahead of the other two QB's. I haven't finished the season yet, so I don't know about the cap.

That is really messed up i have never seen that. If its a career ending injury i would think they would take his name off the roster. It doesnt seem like EA would be allowed to have that because of the NFLPA or something. Like how in gran turismo there is no car damage. It just seems wrong to have a player get a career ending injury, yes i know it is a video game.
You could do this though, make a guy that sucks, and sign him to a low contract, just name him michael vick and you know make him look the look. AFter you sign him go back and edit his attributes aceen (sp) to vicks. Then you will have yourself a new vick. for very little money i might add.
hope this helps.

I like them, they rarely ever happen anyways it's just shitty that you lost vick.... If i were you I just wouldn't have saved and played the game over.

Like it was stated above just recreate him. Boy I guess the Madden Curse really struck this time. It would be interesting to see if he is available as a coach after a few years pass.

If he is, he's going to be my offensive coordinator until Dan Reeves finally dies of old age.

I haven't finished a year yet, and I have a question. When you hire coaches, how many are there. Like, is it just head coach, offensive coordinator, and defensive coordinator? Or is there things like DB coach, QB coach, etc.?

I've seen the "career ending injury" once before in last years game. Im the Falcons in my franchise and Mike Vick gets hurt quite often if I stay in the pocket too long to make a pass. Its usually just for a fews plays, and the longest ive had is for the rest of the game, but it was worth it because he made the 70 yard pass to setup the game typing FG.
I also traded Warrick Dunn and kept TJ Duckett, because I like Ducketts tackle breaking ability which allows for lots of yards on inside runs and he's currently 1st for league mvp.

i dont have 2004 but on 2003 the league seems to have 2-3 career-enders per year... ive never had one. im pretty sure they dont leave the team until the end of the year and go out in the retired players section. at least thats what it did for the computer...

here's an idea for cecil... until you get a good QB, put your backup HB in there and make him scramble and run options all the time :p
