after getting used to the game using UK. I started a Career Legacy with Sacred Heart, using LikeWhoa's MOP sliders.
11 games into the season I had to play @ #10 Miami (FL) (WTF, how are they #10).
Anyway, I was 6-4 losing games to Harvard, Boston College, Albany and Rhode Island.
So I am playing at Miami, and my starting SG Luke Granato gets hot. He hits 7 out of his first 9 shots and 3-4 three pointers.
Miami starts doubling him and my C and PF both get in the groove.
I ended up taking a 19 point lead to halftime.
The second half goes on and Miami makes a small 7-0 run and cuts the lead to 12.
I get a TO, emphasize defense, and decide to slow the game down.
So I slow the game down, waiting till about 12 seconds on the shot clock to run my play.
Miami and I trade baskets for the next 8 or 9 minutes, then they go on another tear.
A 12-4 run ties the game with less than 2 minutes to go.
We trade four more points, and then they made the fatal mistake.
Diaz tried to hit a cutting Hite for an Alley Oop, but my center (Trim) snags the ball out of the air and hits my PG in transition, he drives the lane and kicks it to Granato for a transition 3 and the lead.
Miami gets that ball back, down 1 less than 30 seconds left. They miss the go ahead basket, I rebound, and knock in 6 clutch free throws to win 78-72.
I was so pumped, because it was such a huge victory for the Pioneers, and it played out so realistically.
With the better team (Miami) making the big run to come back, but then making a bad mistake that cost them the game (the botched Alley Oop).
Anyway, it was incredible. I honestly felt like a kid playing Mario. I have not been into a game that much in a long, long time. EA needs to take a few notes from 2K/VC on how to make a great game.
