Did anyone catch the Western Kentucky/Arizona game on FSN last night?
There was a call at the end of the game that is possibly the worst call in the history of basketball.
Western was down 2, and rebounded a missed Zona shot.
The guy takes off upcourt, and a Zona player wraps BOTH arms around him, and takes him to the ground.
The refs stand there, baffled, and then decide to call it a travel. WTF?!?!?! A travel?? It was a friggin 2 point takedown!!!!
And on another note, Hassan Adams thought it was a friggin slam dunk contest, as he decided he could throw an alley oop to himself. he did not use the backboard or anything. He lobbed the ball up in the air, ran under it, caught it and dunked it. In any other gym in America that is a travel, but not on Lute Olson court!!
that was seriously the worst call I have ever seen in a basketball game. I have seen some bad ones, but that was the worst. It was seriously almost like the refs were so shocked by the Zona kid tackling a Hilltopper that they did not know what to call. So they said it was a travel. It should have been intentional, 2 shots and the ball.
Instead it was a bullshit call that cost Western a chance to get a marquee win and prove that they are as good as they are hyped up to be.
Once again, it was a bunch of shit. I swear I think refs should be accountable for terrible calls. They should make the refs hold press conferences after the game, so they could explain what they saw that made that a travel and not a fucking foul. What a joke.
