Has anyone else recruited someone that is just a super freak that is a ton of fun to play with? I recruited a 6'11" SF that weighed 293 and since has gotten to 7'0" 308lbs. He is very mobile and my best shooter on the team. He can take 2 steps from the elbow and glide in for the layup, side step on the baseline and power dunk or just kick back behind the 3 point line and shoot 3's.
He is no Redick but then again, he is 7'0" and more athletic than Redick. He is a force on the defensive end as well.
From what I can tell about this game so far, the ideal line-up might be 2 oversized SGs paird with 3 giant SFs. The big SGs give the CPU's PGs fits in the passing lanes and the big SFs are just so much more athletic and fast than the PF and Centers. I will continue to recruit from the correct position but I don't think you can go wrong getting the big athletic SF.

Well, I've seen you bragging about this kid, and with good reason. I'm 6 games remaining in my first season at Stony Brook so it'll be awhile before I'm able to get the 5-stars coming to play for me. I've got a couple guys I'm going after that if I get, will be stars for me. They won't be 7' shooting 3's and dunking from the freethrow line though, lol

What is also kinda cool is that he wasn't the #1 recruit overall. Don't get me wrong, he was at the top but damn, this guy is a total freak. I wonder if he will ditch me after his SO year. How early do these guys bail this year?
I can't wait to see what he averages this year. I would think he would be hard pressed not to average 30+ but who knows. When I get into the ACC he will get a lot harder. But I have so much talend that they can't double him.
What I don't have is a Redick or a Sheldon Williams. Is it even possible to get guys like this? I don't see anyone ever getting to 90+ on the 3's and Sheldon has been my only player that can do the up and under slam dunk on command, a true weapon that was great for killing the other team's runs.

Yea, I've been wondering about the 3's situation as well. I don't believe there are that many good shooters in the pool of people you can sign. Of course, I'm looking at the bottom rung people right now, but still, I've looked at the top and see some A?'s but I bet they come in with a rating of 80 maybe at 3.

It seems kind of random which is both kind of cool and frustrating at the same time. I have gotten A+ shooters (guards) that have like a 74 in 3's. So I don't completely understand how the lettering system transfers over to the number system.
By the way, I played a horrible team last night that I have never heard of. Their mascott was a freaking kangaroo. Their PG was 7'0" and weighed 286lbs. I think that is a bit rediculous to say the least. And he was really good!

7' point guard? holy shit. at least you have that 7' small forward you could have put on him to slow him down

Yeah, it was nuts. I am sitting there playing the game and my wife came in and was talking to me so I didn't pay too close attention at first. Finally, I was like damn, does that guy look rediculously tall to you honey? And she said yep... so I went to player matchup screen and sure enough, the bastard was 7'0" tall!
So is it possible to get an all 7'0" and over starting lineup?

If you did I guarantee you'd never lose

Well I never would because I think that it is stupid to begin with. It would be very hard to lose because of the amount of steals that I would get just by balls bouncing of bodies of my team of freak-zoids. Hell, I am getting some of that now.

I think your scouting ratings of your coaches has an effect on the accuracy of your ratings that you find for your prospects. But then again, you're Duke, so your coaching ratings should be plenty good enough to get an accurate measurement of a player's shooting ability.

Agreed. It will be interesting to see over time if I ever get another shooter like Redick. So far through 2 recruiting classes I don't have anything that even resembles that guy and I am getting the best of the best.

Boy, I was sad to see Redick and Sheldon Williams go after my first year at Duke but I have grown REALLY attached to this Morrissette guy that I talk about in this post. He is just so damn fun to play with. He is just a soph so his potential is just scary. I am almost certain that I will only have him for one more year, if that, so I plan to enjoy it. It is gonna SUCK when he goes pro because I don't think he is replaceable. He is a SUPER FREAK!!!

Since you all like Duke so much, I thought I'd let you in on some of my legacy news. I'm running with Stony Brook and after winning the American East Conference, I get the 12 seed, going against Duke. Well, I just finished the game and won! lol! Final score: 65-57. I got really lucky in this game though....Redick and Williams both got 2 fouls called extremely quick. I'm talking, Williams was out in less than 2 minutes, Redick soon after. That evened the playing field like you wouldn't believe.
As the game wore on, I was able to get Paulus in foul trouble as well and it was too much for them to overcome. Now I have 4th seeded Notre Dame in the 2nd round. Man, this game is great -- and this is only the first year!

So Stony Brook beat Duke in the first year... is that possible in real life?

Wow, my SG (soph) is turning out to be a TOTAL stud. He is 6'8" and VERY athletic. He is my best dunker on the team at like 86 and he is pretty fast. He is absolutely perfect for fast breaks. His ONLY downfall is outside shooting. Other than that is a Lebron James look alike.
For those who might not know... big SGs are great at layups on the fast breaks. Because the guy who he will have to go over will probably be about 6'3"ish.

It sucks to read this thread, and then go play the game with my team full of scrubs. Makes me want to simulate a few seasons so I can go to a better school. (But I wont do it)

Don't do that. It will make it all that much sweeter when you do get the big dogs. What is cool about playing every single game is the "attachment" that you get to these guys. I will be really pissed when I lose my top 2 guys to the NBA.
Morrissette 7'0" SF (soph) 34 points per game
Hairiston 6'8" SG (soph) 19.6 points per game

I'm using Stony Brook and got soem studs after my first year. I just finished my first game of year two. My starting center, a 7'0 freshman I recruited finished the game with 19 points and 6 rebounds and he's only rated a 57 overall. So there are guys out there that work, you just gotta find em.

Yeah, I got a 6-10 center that is like a 54 or 55 ovr and has scored 19 and 20 points in the last 2 games. He also had 11+ rebounds for both of those games.
Oh yeah, and he's injured.
The team still sucks though. (1-5) :(

Well my stud, Marco Killingsworth, just pulled a hamstring during the Big Ten Tournament and will be out until the week of the Final Four. He was averaging 17 and 7 while only playing 18 minutes per game during the season.
