Hello Everybody

First of all thank you for taking a look at our dynasty. We hope that you enjoy our experiment.

Who is we?
No, not an alter ego. Cougncats consists of my friend and I, roomates in grad school. We met our first year of grad school and discovered our loving of the game. I came across this website and just viewed it at first to get tips, but then to read dynasties. We decided that we wanted to contibute a story to Utopia, but with a couple of rare or untried ideas.
1. Real schedules- Every game will have a real outcome, not the correct score, but the correct winning team.
2. Two coaches going at once, I like UK, while he likes WSU, thus cougncats.

With the real schedules in place, we hope to test EA's BCS, Heisman/all american, and bowl placement, while at the same time having fun with our teams in Utopia dynasty style.

Dynasty Setup
Length: 5 mins
setting: personally adjusted heisman level
recruiting: In-season pipelines only, off season under 4 star prestige must stay in pipelines, and every prestige can only recruit star level 1 above your prestige (ie 2 star prestige can recruit up to 3* players)

So you'll be simming every game, one at a time, and reloading the dynasty every time the outcome diverges from the real-life outcome?

Just a refesher on who EA selected for the polls and honors. It is interesting to think back how we thought teams/people would do and see how they have exceeded or underachieved.

No, and I apologise if that is what I made it look like we are doing. Because of Hurricane Katrina, a bunch of games were postponed. The Tulane-Southern Miss game will actually take place the saturday after Thanksgiving. So because I am not going to guess what the outcome will be, everygame in week 1(ASU v. Temple) and week 2 will be played by me or my roomate. After the Tulane-Southern Miss game we will be going to a normal schedule. This schedule includes playing every game that UK and WSU play, while also playing a handfull of the premier games that week.

Call me a smart ass BUT if thats what you are doing, this dynasty will not last very long, sorry

I hope that it will last because of the amount of games we will be playing and the amount of extras we will be including.

Week 1 and 2 scores:

Temple 28 v. Arizona St. 52: In the first game of the 2005 season, ASU proved what PAC-10 football is all about. QB Sam Keller was 27-36 with 359 yards and 4 TD’s, and All American WR Derek Hagan had 9 receptions for 154. Temple put up a modest showing of offense, scoring a touchdown in each quarter. QB McGann had 226 yards and 3 touchdowns. ASU hopes to prove themselves as a challenger to USC in the conference, while Temple hopes to win a game.

E. Michigan 29 v. Cincinnati 31: EMU had 130 more yards of total offense, but converted few touchdowns as the Bearcats win at home.

Oregon 30 v. Houston 27: Oregon was down 17-10 at halftime, but outscored the Cougars 20-10 in the 2nd half. Kellen Clemons went 20-20 with 300 yards and 3 Td's, and Whitehead had 130 yards on the ground.

William and Mary 20 v. Marshall 42: Marshall scored 35 2nd half points, including 21 in the 4th quarter. W&M could only muster 3 second half points. Skinner threw for 336 yards and 5 TD's.

Buffalo 40 v. UCONN 49: UCONN outlasts a 20 point 4th quarter from the Bulls to win this rivalry in nail biting fashion.

Northwestern St. 31 v. UL Monroe 26: UL Monroe gets embarrassed on opening night by a 1-AA team.

WSU Arrests Vandals
Washington State Wins 49-28

Pullman, Washington: About 10 miles seperate Pullman, Washington and Moscow, Idaho. At the end of the game it seemed as though the two terms were seperated by that much in skill.

WSU won the toss, and the opening drive was a sign of things to come. Jerome Harrison (158 yards rushing 8.3 yard average 3 TD) helped the Cougs march 80 yards on 9 plays, contributing 60 yards on the ground. With the Vandals looking for the run inside the 5, QB Alex Brink threw a play-action pass to TE Troy Bienemann for a 3 yard TD.

"We caught them off guard alot today," Alex Brink (11-17 253 yards 3TD 0 INTS) said "We ran when the expected pass, and pass when the run was almost certain. It was a great job by our coaches, our offensive line."

Idaho did manage to score 14 points in the second quarter. On the day QB Michael Harrington was 14-26 with 289 yards 1 TD and 1 INT. His favorite target was Wendell Octave who had 7 catches for 196 yards, but no touchdowns.

"I did have a good day," Wendell said "but I am disapointed I couldn't catch any TD's, that hurt us in the end."

Washington State's defensive did not allow any points in the 4th quarter, allowing WSU to extend their lead from 7 to 21. Harrington's interception was caught by linebacker Scott Davis, and sacks were recorded by Aaron Johnson and Greg Trent.

Idaho's next opponent is UNLV, while WSU will vist Reno to face Nevada.

Week 2 Cont.

Vandy 24 v. Wake Forrest 21:Jay Cutler proved what a senior leader should do, lead your team from behind to victory. His 300 yards passing on the day proved vital to the Vandy comeback. With the score 13-7 at the end of the third quarter, Cutler took the team on his back and led them to 17 more points and a 24-21 victory. Chris Barclay of Wake Forest kept the game close with his 146 rushing yards.

W. Illinois 10 v. Toledo 42: Toledo made this game out of hand faster then you can say Gradkowski. Bruce Gradkowski led his team to the rout with 396 yards passing and 3 touchdowns.

UCF 17 v. S. Carolina 55: The Steve Spurrier premier at South Carolina was a great success. His team finished strong with 38 points in the second half. Cody Boyd had 28 carries for 191 yards and touchdowns.

C. Mich 26 v. Indiana 28: Indiana showed some promising plays throughout the game that should lead to a decent season. Sophomore QB Blake Powers threw for 336 yards on 23 attempts, which lead to 4 touchdowns. Indiana needs to continue this trend throughout the year.

Arizona 26 v. Utah 35: Utah looked as dominate as ever as the continue there win streak to 17 games. Sophomore QB Brian Johnson looked just as excellent as 1st round draft pick Alex Smith with 158 yards through the air and 3 touchdowns.

USF 10 v. Penn St 38: Penn St. looked sharp in their season opener, winning 38-10. Austin Scott had 126 yards on 29 carries with 1 touchdown.

N Illinois 24 v. Michigan 44: Michigan dominated again in their traditional MAC opener, this time against Northern Illinois. Michael Hart had 116 yards on 28 carries and touchdowns rushing, while totaling 110 yards on 5 catches with a touchdown.

Kent State 17 v. Michigan St. 35: Just like the Wolverines, the Spartans opened with a MAC foe. The John L. Smith led Spartans were victorious behind running back Justin Teague who had 151 yards rushing on 31 carries and 2 touchdowns.

TCU 49 v. Oklahoma 37: Oklahoma is left stunned after losing the season opener to the Horned Frogs of TCU. Heisman candidate Adrian Peterson had a great game, but wasn’t enough to overpower the stingy TCU defense. Lonta Hobbs had a total of 151 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Portland St. 21 v. Oregon St. 51: Oregon State tromps over Portland State easily with a 51-21 victory. 1st team All-American stud, Mike Hass catches 6 passes for 154 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Air Force 39 v. Washington 28: Air Force surprises Tyrone Willingham’s opener as the coach of Washington. Air Force flexed a rare offensive muscle, without having to rely on their normally stingy defense. Justin Handley had 150 yards running and 60 yards receiving, recording a touchdown on both the ground and through the air.

Cards Soar to Victory
Rain in Lexington can’t dampen the road to a BCS Bowl

Lexington, KY: The Louisville Cardinals expected to win this game, and they did not disappoint themselves. Fueled by the thought of a 2002 Governor’s Cup which saw the Kentucky Wildcats stomp out the Cards BCS dreams on game 1, Louisville raced to a 31-21 victory.

“There was no way we were going to let them stop us,” RB Mike Bush said “we have places to go and people to see far better then Lexington and the Cats.”

Mike should have said for them stop HIM. The 6’ 3 converted quarterback showed that he was ready to lead this team, and possibly leave to the NFL at the end of the year with his 184 yards rushing on 20 carries with 2 touchdowns.

“Obviously this is not what we wanted the outcome to be,” said a tired Rich Brooks “but I thought that our guys played well and will continue to improve this year. We are better than last year.”

One of the factors to the improvement is sophomore running back Rafael Little, who looks to play a Reggie Bush like role for the cats this year, running, receiving, and returning punts. He had 69 yards on 10 carries with 1 touchdown on the ground, 4 catches for 37 yards receiving, and 1 punt return for 12 yards.

The Wildcats play host to Division 1-AA Idaho St. next week, while Louisville has an off week.
