I'll get some more info up later tonight if I can. I'm playing on 13 minute quarters with the accelerated clock. I'm using the same All-Madden sliders as Tricky is using in his Redskins 'chise.

17 Year Old Is New General Manager of Chargers
Well, we finally have a winner! For those that aren't aware, the owner of the San Diego Chargers was so disgusted with his staff's personnel decisions over the past few years that he put out a contest. The "NFL Dream Job" contest was open to all comers, to anyone who had said they could do better than some bonehead that couldn't see talent with a telescope. Well, today we have a winner.
His real name is not being released, but the name that was given to the press was "LikeWhoa." He's currently a junior in high school, but he'll be working full-time for the Chargers organization now. Although LikeWhoa has no actual experience working in the NFL, he considers himself a great judge of talent and plans to make a lot of changes to the San Diego roster.
STAY TUNED!

LikeWhoa Releases First Impressions of the Team
"Right now, we have too many holes and are too old in some positions, so look for a lot of changes over the next couple of years. We may take some cap hits at first, but eventually we'll be in good shape for the future."
That was the opening statement today at LikeWhoa's first press conference as the new Chargers general manager. Here are his impressions from position by position:
Offense
QB: Drew Brees still must prove that he has what it takes to be a franchise QB. We'll give him a chance here though before making any decisions. I'm a big fan of Doug Flutie, but he's being paid way too much (5 years left, $20 million) for us to keep him as a backup. Look for a trade here.
HB: Ladainian Tomlinson will be here for his whole career. He is, in my opinion, the best halfback in the NFL. He will be the focus of our offense for as long as I'm here, and especially during this rebuilding period. We need an adequate backup, but we won't worry about that right away.
WR: David Boston is extremely talented, but he's very inconsistent. But with the commitment we've made to him contract-wise, I expect him to play here for the next 6 years. Reche Caldwell has great upside; he will be our #2 receiver for right now. Tim Dwight is being overpaid, so look for him to be traded. We still need a #2 WR in the next year or two, unless Caldwell really improves.
TE: This spot is awful. Stephen Alexander is one of the worst starting TE's in the NFL, and he's one of the highest paid. He's gone; look for a younger, better pass-catching TE to come in.
OL: This group is pretty young. 3 of our 5 projected starters will be free agents next season. So for that reason, we won't make many changes here, and we'll re-evaluate the situation in the next offseason.

Conference continued...
Defense
DE: We've put a big investment into Marcellus Wiley. He must produce for us. Our other starter, Raylee Johnson, has 3 years left on his $6.6 million dollar contract and is already 33 years old. Most likely next season, we will fill in his spot with a younger player.
DT: Overall, our defensive line is probably our most solid overall group. We've got two quality tackles up front in Jamal Williams and Jason Fisk. For now, we'll keep it this way.
OLB: This group is VERY young, and doesn't have much talent. Ben Leber appears to be the future on the left side, but we desperately need a ROLB.
MLB: This is a very important position, and although Donnie Edwards is a very good MLB, I want a younger guy who we can build around for the future. Look for a trade.
CB: Only Quentin Jammer looks like he'll be able to keep his job. This is our biggest priority before the season. We must find another quality CB to team with Jammer at CB. Then, we'll let those two guys be the heart of our secondary for years to come.
FS: Ryan McNeil is a real smart FS, but he's getting up there in years. But since we have bigger needs to fill, he'll be here for awhile.
SS: Kwamie Lassiter is a good all-around SS. No changes needed here right now.
K: Another priority. Steve Christie should retire now, but we'll let him finish his last year on his contract before letting him go.
P: Darren Bennett is a terrific punter. Although he's 38 years old, we'll keep him for as long as he wants to continue to play in the NFL.
So there you have it. Look for a number of trades before the season starts. The biggest needs for the Chargers are at CB, OLB and TE. Also, we may make some early moves to get some younger guys at MLB, WR or on the offensive line. Check back soon for updates on the upcoming trade discussions.

Great transactions, especially getting younger with Hartwell and Newman. That has the makings of a real solid team.

San Diego Chargers Opening Starting Lineup
I usually would show the two-deep depth chart, but we have no depth!
QB Drew Brees (83) -- Must play smart and manage the offense well.
HB Ladainian Tomlinson (98) -- Go-to guy. Look for big numbers.
FB Lorenzo Neal (92) -- Lead blocker for L.T.
WR David Boston (90) -- Go-to WR. Should have a great year.
WR Reche Caldwell (78) -- Developing WR. Must take heat off of Boston.
TE Dallas Clark (76) -- Another option in passing game.
LT Solomon Page (78)
LG Toniu Fonoti (79) -- Must open holes for L.T. in running game.
C Jason Ball (75)
RG Kelvin Garmon (76)
RT Vaughn Parker (83)
LE Marcellus Wiley (93) -- Must put pressure on QB.
RE Raylee Johnson (84)
DT Jamal Williams (88) -- These two will stuff the middle well.
DT Jason Fisk (86)
OLB Ben Leber (78) -- Should develop into solid OLB.
MLB Ed Hartwell (83) -- Should be leading tackler.
OLB Zeke Moreno (71) -- Weak link.
CB Quentin Jammer (85) -- CBs will make mistakes, but will be great in future.
CB Terence Newman (83)
FS Ryan McNeil (90) -- The two safeties must be leaders of the defense this year.
SS Kwamie Lassiter (87)
K Steve Christie (74)
P Darren Bennett (95) -- We'll need his punting!
Here's our simple gameplan for this season:
On offense, we feed the ball to Tomlinson either on the ground or in the air. We've got some options in the passing game as well, but we have to control the clock. I don't care how many yards our defense gives up, so long as they just don't give up that many points. This is definitely a rebuilding year, so don't expect a run to the playoffs this season.

Okay, I played the first two games of the season and lost two heartbreakers. I've decided to just simulate the first season. We're not going anywhere this year anyway, so it's a waste of my time to play all of these games.
I'll get the all of the season results and some stats up soon.

Since a couple people asked me if I'm going to keep updating this franchise, I guess I better announce it.
I'm done with my Chargers 'chise. I like Madden, but I enjoy the offseason stuff more than playing the game, so when it came time for me to start playing, I lost interest. Plus, I'm now re-hyped for my Fresno dynasty since I'll be switching teams next season. Thanks to all who kept track of this franchise, but I'm finished.
