The NCAA has announced today that the Temple University Owls have moved from Div1A to Div1AA. The university president was not available for comment, but in a written statement to the press announced, "I'm sorry to all the players and fans that our university must take such drastic measures, but we can not be a D1A independent in football. Our program financially can not afford to be put in that situation. Thank you to our loyal fans and I hope you will continue coming to our games."

The NCAA has announced 3 possible replacements for Temple. They are Western Kentucky University, Furman University, and Idaho State University, an apparent longshot for the honor. A final announcement will be made in the near future.

The Idaho State Bengals are in a state of change. They have just hired a new head coach, Adam Borman. He has started to recruit, but hasn't yet hired a staff. The roster is in disarray and practice is really not a sight to behold, as they have just gotten their playbooks a week ago. Why is this team even being considered to join the ranks of the best of the best, I don't know. It seems like nobody does. But if they do get accepted into D1A, this reporter does not like their chances.

The impossible has happened. The NCAA has announced today that the Idaho State Bengals are a Division 1A team. The Bengals, with new coach Adam Borman, will have to hire a staff and set a schedule before they are officially included. A press conference will be held tomorrow for more information.

AD Joe Madre and Head Coach Adam Borman sit down behind a table with 2 microphones on it.

JM: Thank you and welcome to this press conference. This is a great day for our program, and we have a couple of major announcements. I'm want to keep this conference as short as possible, so I'll start things up now. We have finalized a copy our schedule. We will be having our assistant Ms. Cavanaugh pass out copies to you all as we speak. I'll let Coach Borman make the next announcement.

AB: Thank you Mr. Madre. I have also set the coaching staff. The hire that you you will be most interested in is the hiring of an Offensive Coordinator. He is a man that you all may recognize. I have all the trust in the world that he will bring in his brand of offense and will make this team rock and roll. I hereby annouce Keith Foster to be the Offensive Coordinator of the Idaho State Bengals.

KF: Thank you. It is an honor for me to stand in front of you all as the new Offensive Coordinator of the Idaho State Bengals. The class of players on and off the field makes me proud to be here.

JM: Do you have any questions?

Reporter 1: Yes... In terms of your schedule I just have to ask, ARE YOU CRAZY!!!! @Arizona State to start the year, @ Boise State in the middle of the season, then @USC in the last game of the year. Are you trying to kill your plaayers?

JM: I think that we have a schedule that will allow us to be competitive, while still bringing the game to bigger schools.

AB: I'm not expecting an undefeated season this year, and nobody else here is. That would be unreasonable. All I expect from my kids is full effort every game. As long as that happens, than everyone can sleep at night... well, kinda.

Reporter 2: Coach Foster, what kind of offense do you plan on establishing.

KF: We're gonna throw the ball. That's all I'm gonna say at this point.

JM: Anything else?... Okay then. Next time we need to conference with the press, we'll call a press conference. We'll see you then and best of luck.

Idaho State's first D1A game would be one they would rather forget, losing to ASU 80-3.

The Sun Devils got off to a big start, recieving the opening kickoff and scoring on a quick 68 yard pass from Sam Keller to Derek Hagan. Luke Sniewski led the drive for the Bengals, but was picked off by OLB Robert James, who returned it 30 yards for a TD. Sniewski came back out for another attempt at throwing, but wa picked again, this time by CB RJ Oliver. ASU turned that turnover into 6 points as well, with Lee Burghgraef scoring from 1 yard. Sniewski would come out and throw his 3rd pick of the game, again to James who would again return it for a TD. Sniewski would be more conservative on the next possesion, but would end up turning it over on downs. ASU quickly grabbed 6 more points with Keller finding Terry Richardson for a 50 yard TD pass to end the 1st quarter.

ASU-35 Id St-0

The second quarter started with Matt Hagler taking over the QB position for the Bengals. He didn't fare much better than Sniewski, throwing an INT on the first drive to Josh Golden. Rudy Burgess scored again for ASU. Id St would do a bit better on their next possesion, holding on to the ball long enough to punt. Keller to Richardson worked again for 48 yards and 6 points. Chad Green made an INT on the next possesion, but IdSt SS Leonardo Johnson would give Id St their first stop of the day, forcing a fumble that would be recovered by Donte Williams. Hagler would turn that turnover into another INT, returned for a Td by Daniel Varvel. Idaho St would finally get on the board in the final second of the half, with Chris Donatello kicking one through the uprights.

ASU-56 Id St-3

The second half would go like this:
Id St punt
Jammaal Lewis TD
punt
Randy Hill TD
OLB#41 INT
Hill TD
Turnover on downs
end of quarter
Jesse Ainsworth FG
bunch of punts.

Oi vey. Tough first loss, but at least you got on the board. I was about to say you should run a 3-4 after seeing Clark at DE and the abysmal DTs you have. But then I saw your linebackers. 3-3-5 might be your best base defense. A 5th DB might be weak, but strong guys can't tackle if they can't catch the ballcarrier.

Good luck!

Coach Foster has collected his offense in the locker room.

CF: Okay guys. Last week, we came out and played like shit. I'd like to know if there are any ideas on how to get this ship righted.

Luke Sniewski: Our O-line isn't blocking for shit. If there was enough time for the reciever to get where they belonged, I could get the ball there. But the whole D is piled on top of me before they can even get to their cuts.

Shawn Oram: Hey, don't look at me. If that dipshit wetback would help me out when he should, you wouldn't have that kind of pressure.

Francisco Anguiano: Sus esposas son vacas.

SO: What the hell are you saying ya little fucker.

FA: Usted tiene un pene corto.

SO: What, you ain't got enough guts to say what you think so that I can understand it? Huh? You think you're so damn smart...

Coach Foster is visibly becoming annoyed.

CF: Shut the fuck up!! Both of you! If you don't know what went wrong, don't blame it on someone else. Niether of you did very well for your information.

SO: I just told you what the problem was coach.

CF: Oram!... If you want to play next week I'd suggest you shut your mouth.

SO: Whatever

CF: Okay. I can see where this is going. Go back to your dorms.

Thanks for the help FB. I'm typically pretty wary of the 3-3-5. It seems so easy to run on. But I tried it in a Practice game (play now) against Portland State. Wow is all I have to say. The halftime score was 35-7 Idaho State. To bad I already played the Idaho and Washington games. (Getting ahead of myself [evil] ) I'm going to run more 3-3-5 from now on. Plus getting the SS Johnson up closer to the line of scrimmage can't hurt too bad either.

The Idaho State Bengals were on the recieving end of a beating from the Idaho Vandals, 90-14.

Idaho recieved the opening kick and turned it into a TD on one of the most bizarre plays you'll ever see. QB Micheal Harrington completed a pass to WR Ryan Heacock. Heacock fumbled on the 7, but Wendell Octave picked it up and carried it in for 6. Idaho State held the ball for a long time, but penalties and sacks pushed them out of Field Goal range, leading to a turnover on downs,

Idaho-7 Idaho State-0

Idaho took advantage of Idaho State's turnover on downs with a TD run from Jayson Bird from 34 yards out. Idaho State answered with a TD pass from Luke Sniewski to Kenyon Blue. But on the kickoff HB#6 got free and returned it for a 94 yard TD. Idaho State was forced to punt again on their next drive, and Dan Dykes returned it for a TD. Idaho State would then fumble, and Bird would score from 2 yards out. Idaho State had to punt again, and for the last time, Bird would score again. Sniewski would find Dane Simmons open in the endzone, but that would be really muted by the run made by the Vandals.

Idaho-42 Idaho State-14

The 3rd quarter started with a Bengals punt, and the Defense held to a Mike Barrow FG. An Idaho State turnover led to a TD from Harrington to Desmond Belton. The quarter ended with a few punts.

This game hurt. Final score Washington 104-Idaho State 7

I'll keep this one short. Washington recieved the kick, and RB Kenny James scored a TD. Luke Sniewski followed it with an INT to Matt Fountaine, who returned it for another TD. After another INT, James took it in for another TD.

Washington-21 Idaho State-0

Washington got another turnover, but got nothing on it and had to punt. Sniewski threw a pick to Kim Taylor, leading to a James TD. Sniewski threw another pick to Fountaine, this one leading to a TD pass from Casey Paus to James. Founaine got his 3rd pick of the game, which turned into another James TD. Sniewski threw his 6th pick of the half to Evan Benjamin, and Washington got 3 points out of it.

Washington-45 Idaho State-0

LB Scott White picked off QB Matt Hagler's first pass of the game, and that led to an Evan Knudson FG. Idaho State finally held on to the ball long enough to punt it, and PR Shelton Sampson returned it for a TD. Idaho State punts again, and Sampson gets 6 more.

Washington-62Idaho State-0

Kyle Trew picked Hagler next and Washington dialed up a HALFBACK PASS and got six points out of it. Idaho State turned it over on downs, and Chris Singleton scored. Another Turnover on downs, another Singleton TD. Hagler finally got Id St on the board with a TD pass to Dane Simmons. Isaiah Stanback found Charles Smith for 6. Kyle Trew got his second pick of the game, followed by a Singleton TD. Idaho State fumbled, and Singleton scored on another TD run. The game was capped off with an INT from Darin Harris.

The Bengals held the #18 Buffs to only 72 points in their 72-3 defeat!

Idaho State started the game with the ball, but had to punt. Mason Crosby got Colorado on the board with a huge 53 yard FG. Gerrett Burl intercepted Luke Sniewski's pass, and CU capitalized with a 12 yard Lawrence Vickers run. Idaho State would have to punt on their next drive, and Stephone Robinson would return it 66 yards for a TD. Jordon Dizon would pick Sniewski on the next drive, and Vickers would return to the endzone.

Colorado-24 Idaho State-0

The second quarter started out with another Crosby FG. The next Idaho State drive ended in a punt, and Robinson returned his second punt of the game for a TD. Next drive ended in a punt, and this time we tackled Robinson before he scored. Not that it mattered, as Joel Klatt found Blake Mackey for a TD. JJ Billingsley got an INT, and Klatt found Mackey again for a TD. Joe Sanders would end the half with an INT that he would return for a TD.

Colorado-62 Idaho State-0

Stephone Robinson returned the second half kickoff for a TD, but after that, things died down. The only points added would be FGs, one from Crosby and one from Chris Donatello.

E. Washington had a 49-21 lead in the 4th quarter, when a spark came from an unlikely source. 3rd string QB Luc Martin came in and went 24-36 for 322 yards, throwing for 4 TD. Leonardo Johnson helped provide a not-surprising spark, catching 2 TD passes, including the game winner, and a returned an INT for a TD.

USC

USC kills the Bengals 121-3.

Total and complete domination. Thats all this was. Chris Donatello added a FG, and a cool accomplishment was made. Idaho State was never shut out in a game all season.

Good work grabbing a handful (okay, a pinch) of wins. I'd comment on the new roster, but with no rankings, I don't know if it improved much or not. ;)

Oops...

Oh well. You're not missing much. There are 4 guys rated over 70 (DE Clark, HB Barnett, QB Smith, WR Butler). [down] Gonna be a long final year.... I have no clue how I'm gonna keep my job.

And thanks on the congrats for the wins. I'm not gonna see many of those for a while.

Idaho State only doubled up 62-31.

Idaho State started the season with its annual trip to the Smurf turf to play Boise. Idaho State got the ball first, and was forced to punt. Boise came out with Jared Zabransky finding Drisan James for a TD. Marcosus LeBlanc would intercept a Demarcus Smith pass and return it for a TD. Smith would come back, however, and throw a TD pass to Andre Butler.

1st Quarter score:Boise-14 Idaho State-7

Boise would pick up a FG as the 2nd quarter started from Kyle Stringer. Idaho State would punt, but a FR from Joe Thompson would lead to a FG from Ron Johnson-Atol. Boise would come back with 2 TDs, one from Zabransky to Derek Shouman and a run from Ricky Hall. Stringer would kick another FG to end the half.

Halftime:Boise-34 Idaho State-10

Boise would score twice in the 3rd quarter, on another run from Hall, and a pass from Zabransky to Sherm Blaser.

Third quarter:Boise-48 Idaho State-10

The backups came in for Boise in the 4th quarter, and Taylor Tharp threw a TD to Jeremy Childs. Idaho State would finally get back on the board with a pass from Smith to Akilah Lacey. Tharp would find Ryan Putnam for a TD, and Josh Barnett would run in a TD. Smith would get one more TD pass to Dane Simmons.

Final Score:Boise-62 Idaho State-31

Idaho State gets shellacked 66-24.
