I realize this guy is like 50 years old, but what is up with his helmet? It looks like something that would be worn during the 60's. I just don't understand how it's legal???? Is there some "grandfathered-in" exception because he's been in the league so long?

It is still a legal helmet in the NFL, if it weren't Anderson would be fined on a weekly basis.

Who was it .. Gary .. "the other" Anderson that is also ancient that is the kicker for Tennessee right now cause all the pro teams know that even though hes ancient he dont miss and he fishes at the same spot in Wyoming or something and the NFL people know where to find him.

He was off and retired when Tenneesee's kicker got hurt earlier this year, hes off fishing minding his own business, when DOH! .. people want him to work and get off Social Security again. Damn them

I dont know if the NFL will ever let him or Morton Anderson retire lol, kickers score too much, him and the other Anderson are the two highest scorers in NFL history.

Lomas Brown had one of the ugliest facemasks in recent memory as well....still can't beat the one-bar or John Hall's helmet contraption. It's a chin-strap, not a neck-strap.

I've wondered why some players haven't gone to a full face Lexan (or similar) shield with no (or only one bar at the bottom). Would cut down on the fask masks since its harder to grip.

Back when face masks where first coming in, a few guys even wore a half shield with no bars.
