Holy shit, it's out already?! March Madness, ESPN CH, or both?

March Madness is out....ESPN CH is next month I think.

I picked up MM....haven't had much time to play yet. It seems a lot like NBA Live 05. Of course they had the same engine last year, but I didn't think they had the same 'feel.' This year, it feels like NBA Live with college players. IMO, that is an improvement over last years version. I'll post more thoughts when I get some games in.

IMO, the graphics are greatly improved. I haven't played Live 06, but I would guess they are pretty close.

I've only played two games, but like it better than MM 2005. The Lockdown Stick may end up being a sweet feature....I haven't tried utilizing the Senior Leader much though.

For me, the real test will come when I venture online. Online mode was a joke last year and pushed me away from this game.

So far, I feel MM 06 has a better look and 'flow' than last years version. Of course, I've only played two games so take my opinions with a grain of salt. If anyone's interested, I can continue to post my thoughts on the game as I continue to play it.

I haven't gotten into Dynasty Mode yet and probably won't for a week or so.

I think there are X-Box rosters floating around, not sure though....I'm working on PS2 rosters, but each player loads individually when editing, so it's taking forever. Though, you can actually edit all players this year I have heard. (Last year you could only name 325 players - dumb!)

Bought the game saturday morning I haven't played the actual game. But the best part of the game is the addition of Coach K basketball, one of my all time favorite games.

I am hoping my local Blockbuster has this game available to rent for Xbox by now. I was intrigued from what I saw in the videos I watched and would like to try it out before I make a decision on whether or not it's the game I'd want.

The only thing that kills me about College Hoops 2K series is the shitty graphics (in comparison to EA) and the lack of a crowd atmosphere. At least in MM, the student sections jump up and down and do team-specific chants, not to mention the pep bands sound much better. Oh, and you can't go wrong with Dickie V and Brad at the helm.

does the fast break work this year?

For me the biggest problem in the game last year was that your teammates had really fucking stupid AI and it was impossible to run a fast break. According to the interviews it SOUNDS like they have fixed this, but i would like to actually here it has been fixed from somebody here before i buy it.

I've only played three games, but I feel the fast break works.

For example....playing Nebraska vs Creighton I had a 2 on 1 break....I went wide to the right, defender came towards me and the other offensive player made a sweet cut to the hoop where I hit him with the pass and an easy lay-up.

I hope to play a lot more this week, but from what I've played I really like this game. The true test will be when I start playing online....that's when the bugs/flaws really get exposed.

The only things I didn't like in College Hoops last year were the weird animations that happen sometimes during the game like... going for a fast break layup only to have you're guy pull up for a two foot jumper.

And in dynasty everyone gets good really quickly. 10 years into the dynasty all the major conference teams are stacked with 90+ rated players and even the MEAC schools have entire teams in the 80s. The problem here was ridiculously rated walk-ons. I was Long Island and I busted my ass all season to get one 3-star recruit who turned out to be a 65 overall. Then I get a walk-on who's a 70 and another that's a 67.

I can never get into college basketball games. Maybe its the fact that by the time it comes out you already know who all your teams recruits are going to be for the next year and so that kind of ruins the fun of recruiting.
How bout creating those recruits as freshmen on your team, and then redshirting them in the first year of your dynasty so that then you can play with them starting your 2nd year?
