Apparently Gavin Grant of the NC State basketball team has a possibility of being deported. According to my local news, his mother snuck him into the country illegally when he was 10 years old. I don't know what country it was, but Gavin Grant sure doesn't sound like a foreign name. Of course they might've changed it. This sucks, Gavin Grant had definitely some promise. He was Julius Hodge except a much better jumpshot and more athletic, definitely could've used him this year on our team. I need to find out more...I'll supply more information later if I can find any.

Apparently he was snuck in from Jamaica.

They say they're confident he will play this season. That's good.

He probably has a better shot but I don't think he's more athletic. Hodge was a 6'7" freak-of-nature that played some PG.

GG is 6' 8" and I've seen him take the ball up the court. Although Julius is definitely a better ballhandler.

Gavin isn't going anywhere. ABC 11 jumped the gun. According to the NCSU Athletics Department, Gavin will be in Raleigh and will start practicing with the rest of the team come Friday. This hearing or whatever that they were referring to in Atlanta was apparently bogus or isn't coming yet.

Funny that I can walk onto Western Blvd. and see illegal Latinos walking down the street who use public services and pay no taxes, but a good, clean kid who was brought to the US and is doing right with his life was about to be deported.

i think we should just plant snipers on the border and shoot whoever trys to cross it. or an electric fence with enough volts to kill some one. the snipers wouldn't cost anymore than what it does now to arrest these aliens and have police officers and man hours to find this fuckers. i'm sick of illegal aliens, just cause you don't like your country doesn't mean you can come here (i'm refering more towards the illegal latinos and not legal Grant)
/end hijack

He might have a better jumper, and he's definatly faster... but the vision isn't there, and the willpower prolly wont be (no offense to Grant intended) and thats what made Hodge a great player. I'm just glad he went to Denver and not some NBA team I .

Dear gawd....

I am pretty sure if I was stuck in poverty and had no choice or chance to ever get out, and 50 miles to the north was somewhere where I can do the same manual labor and live alot better, I would be sneaking in myself.

That is the problem with 90 percent of americans, cant see anything past there situation being compromised. Oh my I might have to see a bunch of mexicans in the back of a truck, shoot them all!

Gavin ended up being the tournament(weak tourney) MVP that was played this weekend at the RBC Center. He averaged about 14 pts, 6 reb and 5 assists

He definitely played awesome. He's probably our go-to guy if we can't hit the 3's.

You are exactly right. If we were in their situation we would be coming to America...but you know what??
...If they were in OUR situation they would be shooting.

I have never seen this guy play but hopefully I will get the chance to watch him.

I smell tabloid...[upside] Weekly World News and the Enquirer all rolled into one!

GG is definitely going to be a contributor for NC State this year.

He is a solid player and although his shot isn't great he makes things happen. You'll be able to see him in the Wooden Tradition against Notre Dame on ESPN Classic Saturday OR in the ACC-Big Ten challenge next week @Iowa sometime.
