Thank you NCAA for not giving EA another exclusive license to suck.
Well at least I got the second post ever in the new forum!

On topic though I've still never played College Hoops. I've gotten free copies of March Madness the last few years so I've just completely forgotten about College Hoops since MM was good enough. I might have to check it out this time around.

Yes I agree. The coaching contracts make EA's so horrible that I will never pick up another EA basketball game again.

After I showed my roommate what I was playing for 20 bucks this past winter, and the money he spent for an inferior game, he was so pissed.
The college hoops game last year had the best graphics by far of any basketball game I have ever played. Not to mention how great the game was.

2k5 was super addicting for me. At first some of the gameplay changed and I thought "this game really sucks", but I really got use to it and grew to love it, MM 2002 and 2003 disapointed me enough to switch to ESPN College Hoops and have never looked back, even tho I heard MM has been getting better the past couple of years.

Yeah, I made a thread about it. I think it got buried in the other sports forum (before it got turned into pro sports discussion). Its offical website for the 2K6 game is offically up right now. From the looks of it, I'm really going to love it. From calling timeouts to script plays, to a preseason show, to Midnight Madness, this game is looking really good.

Maryland's Midnight Madness is soon. I think in 2 weeks. I've never been but always wanted to go.

Well we're talking in a video game aspect. NCSU doesn't have Midnight Madness, I think Herbie likes going to bed at around 8. ;)

WOW! EA fucking sucks. Sega has more superb features on this game than EA has put on their football games in the past 3 years.

Wow! Nice looking game.
Too bad EA has an exclusive football license, I'd love to see what sega could do with college football.

As great as the features in 2K6 look, I am actually very impressed with MM 06's appearance. My biggest gripe with 2K sports games are the lack of game atmosphere (the roaring crowd, the pump-up meter, the fight songs, etc.), that is where EA has a clear advantage. I also like how the gameplay controls look for MM, I will try and rent it sometime this month (comes out on the 11th) and see if I like it.

the atmosphere and presentation seems great in NBA 2k6. im in love with this game lol. the VIP is simply amazing, especially the ability to download anybody online's VIP and play their VIP (which is just like playing the real person). plus the gameplay is so smooth and you have almost complete control over what you want to do.
all that being said, College Hoops is usually even better :D

Unfortunately, the EA machine will make sure that doesn't happen...
College Hoops is the only basketball game I will buy...there were some programming glitches last year, but overall, I found it to be very enjoyable. And this year, there's no Mike Patrick and Jay Bilas to bore me to death. Overall, they seem to have added some nice new features.

He was last year too, so was McCants, at least in popularity (online of course). I was able to shut these guys down regularly. I actually got pretty high in the rankings for 2K5 online, I got up to #6, but just stopped playing.

Definitely getting ESPNCH this year for the 3rd straight season. March Madness looks like it just added some gimmicks and you can't even export the draft classes to Live.

I've been looking at the impressions over at Operation Sports, and it doesn't look like many people are pleased with it- very small improvements. I can't believe that the MM fanboys haven't figured out that CH is far superior.
I'd rather play 2k5 forever before even thinking about buying MM06, but I still cant wait for CH2k6
