Tricky, I think your novel idea warrants discussion, as do all dynasty reports on this board. But since you've already set your schedule for the next 40 weeks, I guess I don't need to check back until about June/July of 2007 to see how things turn out. :D

Another question, oh exhalted one... Are you a regular reader of dynasty reports? Just wondering.

I'm not a regular follower of the dynasty reports section, I'm more of a bi-weekly drop in reader. I mostly like to sneak a look at the progress of death penalty dynasties and to see what new ideas guys have come up with for recruiting restictions and other ways of making dynasties more fun/realistic.

I spend the majority of my time in dynasty mode playing/simulating so that is the important stuff to me, but I figured since I really enjoy '06 I'd attempt to put some kind of method to my madness this time around.

I created the Packers because I'm a bigger Green Bay fan than anything else, but I enjoy NCAA (the video game) and the college (real football) game better overall. I'm hoping that'll keep my paws off Madden for the next year so I can actually accomplish this :D

And yeah I scheduled some major scrubs for year 1 [down]

I hope you follow through with keeping us updated this time Tricky. Last time Hugh's career tracking died a quick death but I imagine you played a few more seasons than you actually reported on.

I like the idea though and the format you set up in your vault thread. Good luck. I'll be following to see things progress.

Seriously though I actually played less than 15 total games of NCAA '05 so I never did play more than I reported with the original, I've quadrupled that already with '06 so I'm hoping I can gut this one out.

Season 1 was a disaster though, I’m a spec away from being fired. In-Season recruiting landed me absolutely nothing so I’ve got to cross my fingers that I can do something with nothing in the offseason.

Man that freshman speedster of mine went off, became a first team all american, led me to a 9-3 record and he'll probably never start another game for me [down]

I've got a transfer who becomes eligible next season (12 overall points higher) and an incomming 5* bruiser who will redshirt next season and probably be a 3-4 year starter after that.

Hopefully my emerging pattern continues to follow suit [wow]

2005 0-12
2006 3-9
2007 6-6
2008 9-3
2009 ?

I'll see if I can find a quick way to incorporate that into my upcomming seasons. I've been updating the single season records, but that definitely doesn't give a good indicator of how individuals did.

Perhaps I'll add just the stat leaders every season or maybe even just the offensive and defensive YPG averages.

That is the strategy indeed :D

I'm also playing 4 1AA's in my '10 schedule but that is the last year I'm going to schedule them with ULM.

I'm taking the KSU approach of making my team look artificially stronger and think its necessary due to the unpredictability of simulating. Hell I lost to Yale in '09 simulating [down]

It is pretty much impossible to get a bowl game playing that weak of a schedule and my contract is calling for a bowl appearance now. No more scrubs.

And holy crap with Theo Townsend...

My coaching sliders for simulating are only at 60/40 run/pass yet the guy was basically one half away from breaking Sanders single season yardage record.

He averaged over 8 YPC. I don't look at individual week stat lines so I have no idea who he walked all over, but damn he must have lit up some patsies. I know he had about 250 in 2 of the 3 games I played with him, but he had to go off somewhere.

Wish I could have had that kid for more than one season (transfer).

And I don't know if you guys have ever had a team in the Sun Belt before simulating, but Troy is a brick wall!

I have yet to beat them and have again lost to them in my '10 schedule... The week after beating a 5* Virginia team simulating. Must have been a simulated letdown.

Thanks! I don't know what the heck just happened though...

I lost 17 seniors and despite having my best season and winning a bowl game I landed a horrendous recruiting class…

I mean completely horrendous.

My starting lineup will be decent this season overall, but I’m hurting for depth across my roster and my QB is a redshirt freshman with no composure [down]

My prestige just hit 4 but something tells me it is about to drop back down to 3.

Although I've already made it further in this sucker than any of the previous ones.

I lost (as in played but didn't save) two human played games last night though so that'll slow me down.

I played a game and 3 quarters of another last night and then went down to a bar to listen to my buddies sister from Nashville sing. Came home and somehow the Xbox had managed to cut itself off.

Oh well [down]

South Carolina is just insane in the game right now so I'm not surprised they whooped me in the SECC game that I simulated. Plus Lawrence Taylor JR plays for them and he was the defensive player of the year as a true freshman [laugh]

I don't know what happened to me in the bowl game though. I went after Ohio St with everything I had and they just destroyed me. They had some impact player at MLB and I couldn't get to the outside no matter what I called.
