notes
this game was much tougher than the score would indicate. they lead 13-3 early but, after a huge 87 pr td by poston with 0:39 left until halftime, things took a nice turn for us. I had a good game playing as the dt since that's what I played in hs. I finished with 2 tackles, 2 tackles for loss and 1 sack. one of my tackles was even a "user big hit" that I got accidentally just trying to make the tackle. B)

Notes
Good win. TCU just didn't show up this time. We broke into the Top 25 @ #25. B) Also, after 3 games I'm 33-66 for 595 Yds, 5 TDs and 2 Int with B.Ratliff. 50% aint bad for a 78 Ovr QB with a half full composure meter. ;)

Notes
It was just one of those games that I don't f'n miss. We went up 28-14 in the 3rd and when they made it 28-21 it felt like we would lose. They went up 42-35 in the second frame of OT and I just ran Ace-Slot Seamers 4 plays in a row. I knew it was pointless to really try to win this game. I may not get to play again till next week and this is the kind of game I have. :11: That's 2 straight losses. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind losing but it's just that I don't like the way this one felt. I did throw 3 picks. Their bum @ss backup QB came out hitting everything and lead them to the victory. :fyou:

W 42-14
Players of the Game
M.Demps (SDSU): 11 Tkls, FR
D.Poston (Utah): 12 Car, 36 Yds, 3 TD
Notes
This game was about what I expected. Me having the #6 Rush Offense in the nation facing the #65 Rush Defense, I expected to run well and did. Ganther finished with about 140+ yds. Strangely enough, Ratliff was on in the passing game as well. He finished 13/26 for 200+ yds and 2 TDs with no interceptions. I switched to controlling the FS and putting him where the play diagram called for him to be and completely took away the cpu's passing game in the second half. Despite winning 42-14 I still felt like I earned what yardage I was able to come away with. Going into Wk 9, Ganther leads the nation in rushing with 1109 yds. He's only 38 yds above the #2 guy and is one of only 3 1,000-yd rushers. The other rushers are Jamario Thomas (North Texas, 1071 yds) and Dontrell Moore (New Mexico, 1012 yds).
Record

W 38-17
Players of the Game
Q.Ganther (Utah): 26 Car, 197 Yds, 2 TD
I.Tafua (UNLV): 6 Tkls (3 TFL), Sk, 2 FF
Notes
This game was coached because I missed it too much. There's nothing like it. I realise that that is the way *I'm* supposed to play these games. Anywho, we played well. Ratliff did his thing tossing 2 TD passes and no Ints. Ganther got 197 yds on the ground and another 2 scores. My new defensive scheme had my LBs lead the way in Tkls. I couldn't believe that my 4 leading tacklers were all LBs. I'll discuss my new defensive scheme if anyone wants to here about it. ;)

W 31-24
Players of the Game
J.Barge (Wyo): 5 Rec, 88 Yds, 2 TD
Q.Ganther (Utah): 26 Car, 213 Yds, 2 TD
Notes
Down 17-3 I was feeling the pressure. It was eased a bit when we made the score 17-10. Then, we go and give up a TD and find ourselves down 24-10. Who knew we score 21 unanswered points to win 31-24. On the advice of gohuskies I began to run Nickel Crash 3 to contain Bramlet and we were able to get the ball and the win. I didn't start this until late and he still had a great game minus the 3-4 picks he threw. Oh yeah, I'm now #12 on the list for Best Coach. That really means something when you're actually coaching the games. ;)

Week 12 vs. New Mexico ( B )
W 48-28
Players of the Game
J.Malone (UNM): 4 Tkls, Int, TD
T.LaTendresse (Utah): 179 All-purpose Yds, 2 Total TD
Notes
This was much more of a blowout than the score would indicate. It was 48-7 with just over 5:00 to go in the 4th when I brought in the second unit. My second unit D allowed 2 scores and my second unit QB, Johnson, threw an interception that was returned for another score. Ganther had yet another 100+ yd game and Ratliff continued to improve his TD-Int ratio throwing 2 TD's and no interceptions.
Record
Going into Week 13 for our final game of the regular season we boast an 8-2 (6-1) record.
Bowl Projection
We're now slated to play in the Las Vegas bowl which pits the Pac-10's #5 team against the Mountain West's #2 team.
Signings
Our 2 soft verbals decided to sign on with the Sooners.

Players of the Game
E.Weddle (Utah): Tkl, 2 Int, TD
C.Brown (BYU): 2 Rec, 85 Yds, TD, 16 Car, 42 Yds
Notes
Not much to say except we blew these guys away. It was a game where we had to make it a blowout as they weren't gonna lie down and give it to us. 4-2 on turnovers helped alot. Ganther went for 181 yds on 31 car and Ratliff tossed 3 TD passes.

Notes
This was really a tale of two halves. We were down 17-7 at the intermission with UAB getting the ball back. After going 6/20 in the first half I yanked QB-B.Ratliff in favor of the less composed but better OVR FR(RS) B.Johnson. He was just the spark we needed finishing the game 11/25 with 3 TD tosses. Early indications are that Johnson will be the starter for the 2006 season. Stay tuned for more on this story as it develops.
