FINALLY beat Oregon State

The one team that has been a thorn in my side playing online has finally tasted defeat at the hands of my Razorbacks. Three people that I have played numerous times always pick Oregon State against my hogs and that supercharged bulldozer of a running back would just run circles through and around my defense.

Well, I played one of the guys on Monday evening, and came away with a 20-10 victory. I know it's silly stuff...but it was a truimph for me..hehe

Yeah, I usually go with either UCLA or Washington State. WSU has a MUCH better run game, but UCLA has one of the best 3 WR combos in the game. And both teams bring the pain on D.

I've also used Arkansas to combat OSU, and had some success due to the great secondary, which helps to contain Newsome.

Still..Oregon State is the only A team that is unranked.

Like SoJon said, people that say "No Top 10" then pick FSU are funny, but I usually go with Pitt. They match up well against FSU. In fact, I think me and Alum have had some epic battles with the two teams, the series is probably close to half and half.

Another one that is funny is when people say "No Top 20" and pick Alabama. Or "No Top 25" and pick Nebraska.

There are tons of non top 25 teams that match up with Nebraska, so I don't know how that fits. Penn State, Fresno State, Colorado State, Ole Miss, West Virginia all match up well.

Oregon State is a pain in the azz for me, as well.

Funny story, I actually play this fella named MBIO MAJ0R (http://www.easportsonline.com/playercareer/home.jsp?playername=MBIOMAJ0R) , and he uses Oklahoma, who I usually avoid, but he was the same rank as me so I played him.

Long story short, up 21-7, about to punch it in again before halftime, and he glitch quits. LMFAO!!!! Only good thing is I don't fear OU near as much no mo. :)

I knew it was gonna get ugly when he brought Strait in to play QB.

If I ever get to the point where I pick other teams, I might try that...but for right now, I still pick my hogs.

So for an encore I had time to play a game this morning...Dashbanks challenged me and we were off.
He was FSU, I was Arkansas...and I have to tell you this guy had a very unique offensive strategy. He called a lot of goal line formations, and ran them pretty well. He had my inferior defensive line calling Uncle early in the second quarter.

The game went FSU 7 - 0, then 14-0, before the hogs rebounded and tied it before halftime 14-14.

A field goal in the third gave my hogs a 17-14 lead. We traded punts and turnovers through the fourth quarter, until he took a drive going no huddle and scored with :38 seconds left in the game. FSU 21-17.

I took the ensuing kickoff and returned it to the Razorback 45 yard line...First down went spread and hit my split end for a 25 yard gain, Time out.

Next play I hit my TE over the middle, (LB's were on a blitz) for another 15 yards. So it's 8 seconds left and I'm at the FSU 20 yard line. Next play I can't get the pass off and Jones is sacked...Time out and there's 0:01 left in the game.
Nothing to do but throw the old Hail Mary and hope for the best....I take my left side split end and put him in motion to the right to flood that side...drop back..he has an outside pass rush on, so I step up in the pocket and let it rip to th end zone and............

IT'S CAUGHT!!!!!!!!!!!! TOUCHDOWN ARKANSAS...OH MY!! ARKANSAS 24 FLORIDA STATE 17

I wouldn't say that Dashbanks plays cheap, but he only runs about four-five plays...and blitzes EVERY Down on defense. Once I figured that out, all I had to do was overcome the talent level from FSU over Arkansas. It was a fun game, and much more fun that Arkansas pulled the win out. We talked for a few afterwards, and he was gracious in the game. Gotta tell ya though, playing the top teams with Arkansas sometimes is like a potpourri...never really know what's going to happen. When my running game gets shut down...I don't pass as proficient as I'd like to, so I get in trouble at times.

i always use oregon state cuz thats where i go to school. i don't know why but our running back steven jackson is just insane during online play. the receiver's name you all keep talking about is james newson, not newsome. if you see me online, give me a challenge, i ain't that good in my opinion and i'm tired of playing cheaters. lates
